Redstar - very cute pics. Freddie is looking like a proper little boy now. Altho we have that chair and Freddie looks a lot littler than Thomas lol. I think Thomas is going to be really tall tho, he looks a lot longer than the babies at baby group who are a similar age. I think they really shoot up at this age, it doesnt seem like long since T could barely reach the floor in his hop n pop and now he's too tall for the 2nd setting!
Sir M - we started T's bedtime routine at 8 weeks altho I'd do it sooner next time round coz it was so liberating! We had a couple of minor blips during the first 2 weeks but haven't looked back since. I think at that age he was going up for his bath at 7.30 and in bed for 8.30. (coz he'd feed for about half an hour!) We then had a couple of feeds through the night. I gruadually moved it forward and withing a few weeks we were just on one night feed. Now (25 weeks) he goes up at 6.45 and is in bed for about 7.15.
I might just eat the pomegranates myself lolMummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
The Willow Tree figure from this morning was OOS but apparently Argos have some reduced :money:Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
Three gifts left to buy0 -
Argos have the disney traditions 7 dwarfs reduced too. Which would be great since we got MIL Grumpy last year. But... she then went out and bought the rest of the collection (is it me or is that a bit weird?). Meaning we are back to square one with gifts for her.0

I was light headed all the time and only recently found out I'd probably been very anaemic for years because I used to eat so much ice which is a sign it's quite bad apparently, but your body kind of 'gets used' to running on 3/4 tan so to speak and tries to keep you normal.
My iron levels are naturally low. There's a control that says you must have between x and y mg's of iron in your blood, and mine naturally wobbles around the x value. If I have a cold or any minor illness, I go anaemic, and I was on iron tablets in all my pregnancies. I take a multivitamin with iron in some mornings when I remember toButtonmoons wrote: »Oh right, yes! No, they wouldn't - though people moan about single parents working those hours as they can sometimes be getting paid more in TC than they actually earn themselves. But that's just how it goes when minimum wage is ridiculously low.
If I was working 20 hours a week on 6PH, I'd get about £120. Tax credits would be giving me £127 (I checked on entitledto)
Go figure!
It was like that when I first became a single parent. My Mam was working part time, so I got a receptionists job for 20 hours a week that fitted around her hours so we could share the care of James. He was two and had just recovered from double pneumonia and he was really clingy so I didn't want to use a childminder. Also he used to pick up colds really easily and I didn't think it was fair sending a child with almost permanant snot candles to anyone else
My wages were about £100 a week, then I got over £100 in tax credits, and I could keep all the maintenance from my ex without it affecting anything. It worked out really well for me.We started having a routine from ten days but I think I'm rather extreme.
I started my routine when I came home from hospital
I hadn't bought Charlotte any tights for school as the weather hasn't been that bad until today. My Mam had her this morning and commented that she should have tights and a vest on by now, and I said we're planning on going shopping one day in the holidays next week as the boys need bits and bobs too and I'll get her some then. Picked her up from school this evening and Charlotte was in tights and said Granny took her straight to the shops and bought her some :mad:Here I go again on my own....0 -
Berlin, Munich and Heidelberg are all very nice. I have heard good things about Cologne but never been there, everywhere that used to be East Germany is not yet fit for visitors (all the tax money specifically allocated towards sprucing it up has mysteriously vanished) and everywhere else take with a large pinch of salt, the closer to Belgium the less likely you are to want to go there.
I used to live in Brussels when I had one of those career-thingiesI thought Belgium was beautiful.
sir monster - routines are helpful, just be prepared for it not always to go to plan and be flexible enough to adapt when needed. we starte with bathtime/feeds and it naturally developed from there.r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0
