tjayne, from what you have said, you are spending £77 per week on taxis to go to your sons house every day? That is more than some people on benefits get to live on a week. If he has the Dr, nurses, crisis team to support him, then is it really neccesary to pay for a taxi daily to visit him? Yes, I know that to qualify for carers allowance the hours have to be 35 per week, but could these hours be over 3 or 4 days not every day?
From what you have said, you are using the CTC as well as the CA just for taxis to get to your sons house, and that leaves you with nothing left. Unless I've read it wrong, or misunderstood, then it doesn't add up.

If you can do all that i can see why you failed your medical, not being nasty here. I wouldn't be capable of getting a taxi every day and looking after someone else. Can you not ask social services for a direct payment to pay for his care. This is what you said in another post:Definatly not a myth. where is your evidence?
i have many care and mobility needs and need help with many daily tasks that others non diabled take for granted. i cant even get washed and dressed or many otrher things without someone to help me and i do legally qualify for both. i have had these disabilities for 30 years and have recieved dla for last 10 years - i am far worse than when i first was issued it and i will only ever get worse (so says my consultants). Also Atos is a bonus led company. do a google if you dont believe it!

As your son is on at least MRC and claiming ESA or IB/ IS, he will have a pretty healthy income. I agree with the others, he should be covering your costs that relate to him.

Also as your talking about 2 years down the line, if you haven't got the help from your daughter how are you going to manage yourself and your son. I would just go down on a friday and come back on a sunday if I was you. Then you satisfy your entitlement and only spend £11.00.
    Depending,
on what his condition is you can get support workers or carers to take him to hospital appointments.

Not hard to see why they find you fit for work.

DLA has nothing to do with work.
