We have been transfered to opus aswell, it appears. We havent had any communication from citicards appart from statements, but 2 opus cards have turned up, but the citicard account was my husbands with me as an additional card holder and the opus cards are in my name with an additional card for him, are they allowed to do this? We were planning on paying off and closing the account this month but it doesnt look as if it'll be straight forward.

They have put my account into the wife,s name as well plus they sent them to an address we havent lived in for 3 years.
    Not looking good.!

  • Thanks to all who have posted in this thread. I got my Opus card in yesterday and after having a read, I got a wee bit worried. Got the citi originally for the life of balance and hoped to clear it finally next year. Everyones posts have helped me decide to transfer the outstanding to another card. I hope as I did this today that it will all be sorted by the 21st. Thanks.

  • We received an Opus Card a day or two ago, addressed to my wife as the account holder and one card for her only. The only thing is the Citibank Account is in my name with my wife as second cardholder. What a total c*ck-up.

I too have a LOB transfer which will be moved if they don't honour the rate I agreed to. One bonus though, at this time of year the Opeless card will make a handy ice-scraper for the car.
  • I notice that the Opeless card is issued by Bank of Scotland and regulated by the FSA, that explains everything!!

as far as I can tell from my T&C's the interest rate remains the same as your Citi card (now refered to as promotional rate) UNLESS you miss a payment, are late paying or go over your limit.

If this happenes your "promo rate" defaults to their 34.9% rate. sneaky sneaky!
  • Well, I have just been taken on by Opus credit card, and will be activating the new cards, when you phone up, I will be someone on the other end of the phone, you will be glad to hear, we are an english call centre.

You will no longer be able to use your citi credit card from midnight 21st November, and you will not be able to activate you new Opus Credit card until 5am on 21st November. Please note that when calling, you will need to be able to pass security checks, and these can only be passed by the PRIMARY card holder, and secondaries on the account, we will not be able to activate for, unless we speak to the primary. If security is failed, your card will be blocked.

Old balance transfer rates will be honoured over the transfer.

I know it seems a bit of a pain, but if you have any more questions, just ask, and I can do my best to answer you.

Please note, the activation phone number you receive will not be able to answer any queries on your account, or edit your account, only activations can be done through that line.

    Thanks for that!
I have a quick question. I have a credit going onto my account but not sure if it will hit in time for the crossover......if it goes onto my old Citicard what do I do?

  • Hi folks,

We have been in contact with Opus, who alerted us to these threads, and want to pass on some information from them, and a phone number if you wish to ask them any further questions.

    1) There have been no rate hikes - Opus tell us they are now just expressing the interest as APR, whereas Citi used monthly rates. Sadly, you don't simply multiply monthly rates by 12 to get the APR, hence the confusion earlier in the thread.

If a credit card company ever does try and hike rates, you can reject them - read this full guide to that: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/rec...rate-increases

    2) It is guaranteeing that all promotional life of balance deals on debts shifted to Citi cards will be honoured in full, unless you break the cards T&Cs (this is standard)

    3) Any payments recently sent to Citi will be routed to Opus. Any payments made to Citi in the coming months will also be routed to Opus. Direct debit payers need take no action. Your direct debits have been automatically transferred to Opus and will continue as previously

    4) If you wish to contact them, the number to call is
