The reason I asked is, if it was a white van, there could be a chance it was delivering goods to somebody. Therefore, perhaps ask around the neighbourhood, if anybody got a delivery that day? and more important who was the courier?

Also and this is one is a tricky one (as a bloke you don't want to be caught hanging around a school:eek:) but at school closing time take a walk past and have a look for a white SUV and if you find one look for any tell tale scuff marks down the side.

5 steps aheah, when I got home I went to every house and asked if they had a delivery, found one, from HDN have already contacted them, the school had 2 possible deliverys, one uses DHL so not white and the other was the council, they have no scuff marks. SO left with HDN. I popped in there this morning and they are going to look at the van.

Reported this all to the police as well who have given me a ref no.

Have someone coming down today to give me a price as well.

Not alot more I can do, but will be putting CCTV up very soon.
I all have learnt is from others on many sites.

If the damage is as you claim it'll likely be into the thousands to repair properly. So I can't see it being anything other than an insurance claim.

PS. You need to call the police! Leaving the scene after an accident is a serious offence!

Police were called straight after I was told by my partner, whoever caused the damage has 24 hours to report it otherwise they can be arrested.

I gave the police the details of my enquires into it and will be following up.

This is another long line of SH**** things to happen to me in 2010.

    In order

    1. Dad had a stroke and needs 24.7 care
    2. I look after his cat and it dies on me of old age.
    3. Someone runs up the bonnet of my car and decides that a foot through windscreen would be fun.
    4. Someone walks down the side of my 59 plate car and scratches it.
    5. Now this.

I will be glad when 2010 is over and see what 2011 throws at me.

Round the corner, I can attach it to my NDN house as it seems that this happens alot, might have saved me £1000s if I had got the CCTV.

The Home Delivery Network do use white vans, I just hope that if it was their van they are honest and let you know. Hopefully, as you have informed the police this might be the required leverage to make them cough up if it was their vehicle.

How old is your car? as if there is a lot of expensive repair damage the insurance comany could write it off.

Sorry to read about all your misfortune, hopefully things can only get better

I had a DHL Delivery last week via a plain white van.

    So don't rule them out.

It does get worse, its my dads car that is up here whilst he is in care home. Its worth 5k ish, it will probably need both driver and rear passanger door replaced, cant inform him as he is recovering from a stroke stress and all. Got someone coming down to see cost.
