parking charge notice (Vehicle Control Services Ltd)

Hi,

I'm currently in a battle with Vehicle Control Services Ltd, I received a ticket on 28/07/10. I am upto "Roxburghe Debt Collection letter" looks like I have another 4 letters to go!!!

Hope I'm doing the right thing, I haven't acknowledged any of the letters I've received (had about 3 or 4 so far) they are the same ones as shown under Excel. The ticket I got is the same as theirs aswell.

Any thoughts anyone?

Thanks

You're doing well. Keep ignoring. If they actually had a case they'd already have issued court proceedings by now instead of wasting their money on posting threatening (and possibly illegally worded) letters to you. They will try and scare you into paying and when they realise you aren't going to succumb, they'll go away.
  • Thanks Crabman! That's what I thought, it's been nearly 3 months since I got the ticket and if you get a fine it doesn't usually take them that long to get their money off you, they wouldn't stand for it!! So it just goes to show it's one big scam!

Thanks to everyone for putting their own experiences on here, it all helps other people, certainly helped me decide what to do. So I'm going to stick it out and I'll let everyone know what happens!! hehe

If you don't want to pay it then don't.

Where did you get a ticket?

EDIT - I wonder what they would take you to court for?

Forget the BPA, they are just a useless trade association for the parking industry, who only look after their members and not the motorist. As for saying that you will be taken to court. Don't hold your breath as there is a 99.9% chance of this never happening. Once again the BPA is being "economical with the truth".

You rang their old boys' club - why? The BPA is not a regulator, it's their umbrella group!

Just read the sticky threads (permanent info ones) by Crabman, make sure you watch the Watchdog link and familiarise yourself with the sort of scary letters the registered keeper will get. The stickies are at the top, only read the two Crabman ones called 'Please read before posting' and 'PPC letters, what to expect':

Right, once you have read them do come back here and reply with any other queries. Don't you dare 'appeal' or pay the sc@mmers now you have got onto MSE, it would be like falling for a Nigerian phishing email.

IGNORE THEM. Been there, done that with a similar firm, nothing happens. NO COURT, NO CCJ.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Next time they ring say that the alleged debt is denied so please pass the file back to your clients, any future phone-calls will be treated as harassment and reported to the relevant authorities

Those phone calls are well known and are just meaningless "threats". As for you credit rating to be damaged, the case would have to go to court (very unlikely ) you lose (very, very unlikely) and then you refuse to pay whatever the judge orders within 28 days. So nothing to worry about.
