BEWARE lowcostholidays.com

Options
Having used their web site in July - monies taken twice for holiday and flights. Still await refund ( now post flight date) and having been told numerous occasions that refund will be made NOW told tough, "small print".

Spoken with Trading Standards, and as Goods NOT received, as i never received an email or e-tickets, that I should pursue this matter through Small Claims, the £700+ pounds taken out of my Bank fraudulently

Anyone else been duped by this web travel agent.

Emails and tel calls getting nowhere

Did you pay via a debit card? If so you could try to get a chargeback via your bank. Small claims is fine, but you have to pay a court fee (you can get this added to the judgement if you win) plus if you get a judgement in your favour the other party does not always pay up and you have then to take further action to get your money back.
  • Thanks

    Used HSBC visa debit card.

Bank advised that as i put the card details into the web site , I can not claim a charge back - even though goods not supplied.

Any experience on how to explore this route ?

    appreciated.

Your first post is a bit confusing.

Are you saying they took money for the same holiday TWICE?
Or did you book by mistake the same holiday twice?
    There's a difference.

You say they were originally going to give you a refund but now they say they aren't because it's in the 'small print'?

So are they saying that it says in their small print "If we make a mistake and take your money twice for the same holiday we will not refund you"?

You say you didn't receive e-tickets - did you go on a holiday booked through lowcostholidays?

It's not clear if you are trying to get one set of monies back or both.

It's not clear what monies lowcostholidays are refusing to refund.

not used them before but i have had problems with other low cost holiday providers so would not use again,i am a firm believer in you get what you pay for.pay for cheap holiday then you either get problems or crap.

as for your problem then i would fill in the online form for the small claims court as it seems you are not going to get anywhere with the company,it costs around £100 i think which you will get back if you win.

Makes no sense at all, as i use this company a lot.....
When you book anything, you get an email as confirmation and you need that for your e-ticket anyway, especially for the hotel side given the agents they use...

But as others have said, your working is way messed up and makes no sense at all.

    thank you for your input
    to clarify :
    - web site booking, site crashed - no confirmation received, no tickets emailed
    - re booked 2 days later , email confirmation promptly received ( inc e-tickets)
    - later noted , monies ( exact same sum taken twice)
    - rang lowcost - after numerous calls - they confirmed duplicate , their error acknowledged and a refund promised
    - 2 months later they say, original attempt to book created a booking
    - as this advice was received after flight date they now say " tough no refund"
    - opportunity to use tickets ( never received ) lost also !

as no confirmation received, no goods supplied, no transaction confirmed = how can they keep the money ?

    trading standards on board,

web site and customer service have been no joy, first they will refund, now wont

    ?
