Are you sure this guy is right for you? You sound like a nice level headed girl at University trying her hardest to make something of her life, your boyfriend on the other hand although he has his problems sound completely the opposite.

Have you ever heard the expression as different as chalk and cheese? I think it applies quite well in this case.

The thing that concerns me the most is your disregard for your parents opinion, parents only tend to have an opinion on things that matter and they have a really nasty habit of being proved right in the end........

Tread carefully, this guy on the face of things does not sound ideal for you or your busy lifestyle I know I know you cannot choose who you fall in love with but you can choose wether or not you do anything about it!

Think about your future carefully, you only get one shot at being young take it from someone who messed it up

All the best and at the end f the day this is his problem not yours it is down to him to get off his posteria and go and sort it out, you concentrate on what is important your education

My boyfriend and I are a bit like chalk and cheese but we had so many similarities as well. and you're right I can't choose who I fell in love with.

I do worry abouit our relationship and yes he has had some crap in the past but he is trying to turn his life around. for one he is going back to college to get his english and maths GCSE's with the intention of returning to a full time college course next year (I can't remember the name of the course he's wanted to go on but they said if he can get his english and maths they'll have him).

I don't disreguard my parents opinion,but they have formed and opinion on him very quickly and barely know him. My Dad was never going to like my boyfriend as I was a Daddy's girl. My Mum understands I feel really strongly for my OH and is happy that I am happy, even if she's not 100% certain on my choice.

While my lifestyle is busy and I am trying hard at university, he understands this. I make time for him, and he saves money so he can come to me. We have already talked about university, and my plans for next year (to continue onto a postgraduate course) and how this will affect us. To his credit he said to me "However much you love me, I am not part of that equation. you need to make your decision for university and your future for you and not for me. Wherever you go i'll still come to you. Just make the right choice for you."

@Oldernotwiser - Apologies for the misunderstanding. As I said I spent more time with him over summer (naerly every weekend) now it is once a fortnight with him coming here once me going to him the other.

@Sunnyone - As i asid above he's plannin to go to nightschool/college to get english and maths gcse's.

@Jowo - We're not sure either whether they'd count but they are creepy and obsessive. It's got to be worth something. Hopefully that will progress for him now he's reported her.

@Kimitasu - I will speak to him. I know he had a support worker when he was younger, now he doesn't.
