Glad you are home safe in Dundee Swan, it is a nightmare here, thunder and lightning since yesterday and the snow just won't stop. And you walked home:eek:
I couldn't believe it when I stepped off the train! there'd been snow in Edinburgh & it was bitterly cold, but nothing like you'd had here. my daughter said the windows were rattling all night with the thunder
I was waiting for the bus & a friend who's a bus driver called me to say the buses going my way were either going off or being re-routed because of cars lying sideways across the Blackness Road, so I decided to walk up
boy was I glad I had on my waterproof boots & coat!*snigger* no I didn't but thanks for sharing that with us :rotfl:I turned to wave & walked into one of those big bins that stand in the street, then tried to look casual  as if I'd actually meant to do it :rotfl:
Hi folks....by the time I got home yesterday I felt as if I had walked all the way!
Was lovely to meet so many new faces, including Mrs Doyle, who will, I hope join us and not just lurk in the future.
Swan...you must have been even more tired than me when you got home...would love to have seen you if you were walking into lamposts in Edinburgh....
Next time can we have a summer meet please, as at the moment I never want to see another airport!
Thanks la cara
Marie
I'd have been home a lot sooner if I hadn't stopped in at my localI hadn't been in for months, so had a bit of catching up to do
I think the walking into things in the street may have had something to do with the amount of wine I'd consumed at The Filling Station!0 -

Gosh - I missed all the excitement! (and the photo - can someone PM it to me??) Meanmarie - I have taken your telling-off to heart and cleared out my inbox
Had a fab time meeting you all (some of you again!), looking forward to a warmer meet soon! Travelling wasn't too bad for us, but we had fun on Sunday - snow all over the place!
I'm not going out today if I can help it.
More Scotland meets! Thanks lacara for organising.

PS: I will make mum post on the thread soon - she will no longer be a lurker.
PPS: Found a gorgeous dress - mum cried. I cried - but mainly at the price! Already looking around for MSE bargains online...

OMG Swan I had a Tena lady moment there :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

among other things, I'm imagining Mr Jackson doing that line with Ted's voice :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Hi folks,
Thank you all so much for welcoming me to your group. I loved meeting you and would look forward to another get together. I might even go for the fish finger sandwich next time!
Sorry we had to leave early, the craic was great, however the dress fitting was pretty special, she looked stunning in one dress that I swear was made just for her, we both cried.
Glad you all made it home safe and sound, sounds as if there were a few adventures along the way.
Cheers,

Swan, the first time we flew to Dublin it was just like that !! We were surrounded by young men covered in rosary beads mumbling and counting beads and I was nearly hysterical with giggles. It did take me a couple of minutes though because at first I wondered if they were pilots who knew more about Aer Lingus than I did....0

I've only just found the thread!!!
Glad you all had a great time.
There was no way we could make it, the A1 was totally blocked and the snow well, it took us over an hour to drive 3 miles up the road. In the end we gave up and came back home.
But i'll definitely be there for the next meet!
