Not fit for purpose - Maplins runaround

I too have had a problem returning goods to Maplin - I brought something back, which I'd changed my mind and they accused me of opening it. I told them to prove that I'd opened it as I hadn't and it was in the same condition as when they'd sold it to me. A big argument followed, but they eventually gave in. I also had to return a faulty item recently and firstly they said that I could have bought it anywhere as I didn't have a receipt, to which I asked how many shops sold Maplin branded products? they then just about accused me of stealing it! It seems as Maplin is starting to penalise honest customers for the sake of the few who abused them in the past. You were clearly missold the product and you should continue with their customer services for a refund.
Also, Ignore the clowns on here who have nothing better to do than wind people up - these morons have nothing beter to do. It's interesting that Freddie snowbits posted two more replies after they said " Freddie cannot be of more help." they add no value to this site, apart from humouring each other - I appreciate that I've just done the opposite.
PS - i'd remove the link to your partner's site before they wind you up any more - you don't have to prove that he's a DJ.0 -
If he's a genuine DJ then what the hell is he doing buying Skullcandies (of all items) at a Maplins shop?
The mind boggles.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

Er .... because Maplin are DJ equipment suppliers - http://www.maplin.co.uk/Family.aspx?Menu=1622&worldid=-5&C=Maplin&U=MainMenu&utm_source=Maplin&utm_medium=MainMenu&utm_content=Music-DJ+Equipment&utm_campaign=MainMenu and Skullcandy are a top brand of headphones made by the world leaders Senhiesser - anyway what difference whether he's a real DJ or not? the question here is a missold product and what they can do about it.0 -
Skullcandy top headphones.....? Oh, please... Overpriced, shiny American rubbish.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

IMHO these headphones would be fine for DJing. Even the most expensive Technics ones only have a minijack with a jack adaptor.
I've been DJing for nigh on 20 yrs and have often used really cheap ones. The high end ones are usually better because they block out outside sounds, but really, any will do. It wouldn't harm him to wear them out and put this down to experience. You'll be banging your head against the wall trying to see this complaint through.
They're not unfit for their purpose, unless they're broken. It's more a case that they're not the perfect match for the specific purpose he wants them. But they are fit for their purpose.
Seriously, I'd just put this down to experience and choose more carefully next time. And don't go to Maplins!!!

quick question did you specify that you wanted headphones with a 6.35mm jack or was it just asked if they are suitable for dj equipment?SPC Member#1096 Target £150 Feb Count £82.18

Hi,

This is an old thread (last post was November last year) so I think it's done and dusted
