Dear Mr James Evans,
We would firstly like to thank you for your recent order but after reviewing it's contents, we have discovered a minor anomaly that surrounds the free gift promotion currently on offer should you spend over £39.00.
After investigation, we have found that your order does not actually contain the free gift of the Plug-In Power, Energy & CO2 Meter (Maplin order code N67HH). I am sure that this is an oversight and we can look to provide an option to remedy this situation. However the FREEGIFT voucher does have strict guidelines when being used and applied to an order. I have added the Terms & Conditions of the vouchers below.
What we wish to look to provide you is with two options.
1. The order can be reinstated with the same items you requested with the addition of the free gift but we will have to look to process the order at the correct purchase price.
2. We understand that due to the issues that have arisen, you may now wish to cancel your order and obtain a full refund.
It is understandable that there may be some inconvenience caused though this anomaly and we sincerely do apologise.0 -
I just got this email (snap James!):

Cash value 0.001p, no change will be given. Any prices shown in the newsletter such as 'exclusive subscriber price', 'voucher price' etc refers to the price with the appropriate voucher applied in checkout, e.g. an item price is £89.99, the exclusive voucher price would be £86.99 with the £3 voucher added at checkout.
I doubt they can enforce this after a transaction is complete, but I'm not sure - the voucher was improperly used..0 -

These terms do not appear to apply to the voucher that was used???0 -

its very difficult to say the voucher was improperly used. you saw the offer of a free gift, saw it was pants, removed it and you thought maplin had very kindly given you a discount, instead. that's why we get the offer to cancel it.....or go through all the hassle of forcing them to sell it to you. maybe worth a go at calling their bluff tho.0 -
My first order arrived today - stated full rpice on confirmation email, but the £14.99 is quoted as a credit note when arrived, so havent paid full price. Hope others are successful too and receive their bargain goods!0

Ok, so I've got my item, delivered today, and have just received the 'sorry, you owe us £15' email.
What to do now, I wonder?0 -
I too received the same email as recently posted but I have already received and opened the goods. I thought that, after reading all the other complaints from people who hadn't received mis priced bargains, and that once an order was totally confirmed once the money was taken and goods dispatched (as in the cheap TV fiasco recently) that this would be concrete now. And I'm sure, while many realised it was a "glitch" we didn't think it that much of a glitch that they wouldn't honour it. Or at least would have canceled before the goods were dispatched. Anyone know how we legally stand on this?
I mean, It was only 15 quid!0
