  • This is all too much of a co-incidence to me now having read of more than one person who has had a similar Barclaycard fraud within the last week.

My Barclaycard has been hit this week with someone calling them up claiming to be me having forgotten their online login details and trying to change the address and number etc. On the 11th of October and on 13th October.

I'm seeing a pattern and it points to a systematic breach or an inside job..

I have never given my mothers maiden name. I use a secret word that whilst I know has no relevance to any part of my life now. No one can find it.

I am quite surprised that they still want this information. I understand the meaning behind it. But some 'families' are no longer married and three of my friends who have married in the past 5 years havent changed names.

Yep, I use a password too, but the bloody idiots still always ask for my mother's maiden name. My mother never married, and I find the question quite offensive.

Last month for 1 hr on a saturday all banking systems went down. You couldnt use a card in any shops. Maybe something went wrong then. maybe they got hacked.

Reading this made me worried, so I have been playing with my internet access to barclaycard. There are systems in place that give emails and warnings when payments are made. maybe use of this needs to be investigated more.
