Hate the outside but very lovely (though soul-less!) inside. Love the masses and masses of storage. My bugbear is the lack of storage in any house. I love nosey-ing about other people's property! Where's your thread btw? Would love to read it.

See link in previous post - it's East Barnet, not far from New Barnet station and Cat Hill.
I've had a look on Rightmove for your one but can't find any properties reduced from £560k to £499k. Can you post a link Catbells? If I had a pound for every time I didn't play the lottery...0 -

Lol - souless is the exact word I used when we left after the viewing! All the same it is very pristine inside. There is a garage with plenty of storage space too, which isn't shown in the pictures.
If you click on my user name, you can see the threads I've posted - it's called "first time buyer - baby on the way".If I had a pound for every time I didn't play the lottery...0 -
We just offered on a house where the sale had fallen through about 3 weeks ago. It was on the market for £625k, and sellers dropped it to £599k after their sale fell through. EA said the agreed price for the sale that fell through was in the high £500k. We are offering £470k and not prepared to go very much higher than that (Similar houses on that road has never sold beyond £500k). Are you thinking of pulling out?
Not sure about dropping out altogether as I've had the survey done - but wondering whether its worth it. More - wondering about coming down more.0 -

Well - I offered £475k - rejected and I wanted it so went up to £495 at their behest. Now wondering. Kitchen about 5 years old and nice.0 -

This one has dropped from £550. (Or at least that was the first time it was picked up from PropertyBee on chrome.)

This house is not near good schools and all the other the desirable criteria -- possibly overpriced in the first

MrChips I read your other thread and I know what it was like to be a FTB? And my advice is to keep your cool and stick to £500k. The EA is p***ing you about. When we offered on our place, mysteriously there was also another offer and we stupidly fell for it and up our offer first by £5k and then another £3k. I don't think there ever was another offer. The EA can tell you whatever they like basically. We are playing it cool this time round. There will be another house. Also, our first born son (we now have two!) was in our room with us till he was almost a year old!
And we have a two-bedder and our second born (11 months old) is still in with us.
So don't panic. Where I come from (I'm from overseas but married to a Brit), it's really common practice for babies/children to share rooms with parents for a long time. It's kinda nice. If we don't move for whatever reason, we will be moving our second son into the same room as his brother. I think it's good for them to share! Good luck by the way! :T
Catbells It's hard to say. You do realise that if you pay £499k, it will be hard for you to get over £500k in the future. That's kinda the mistake we made with our first home. We bought for £12k under stamp duty and finding it hard to sell over the stamp duty threshold though the agent has said it is worth more. BUT we bought it as a home and we have loved living here. We bought as a couple and now we are a family of four and this place will always hold fond memories for me as it has been a home. It depends on what you place your values on and also if you are prepared not to make any money from it in the future...0
