Hi All,
Sorry I've not been in touch but I've had so much going on recently and to top things off my wife has been told she'll no longer have a job from August onwards!
I am just in the process of contacting Norton Finance regarding my PPI on my Picture Loan but unfortunatley I am not sure how to word my letter?
I was wondering if people have just used the template as per this website? As per below:
I am writing to request a copy of my original loan agreement with Norton Finance- If the original loan agreement does not include details of the insurance added to the account, such as the number and cost of any monthly payments or any lump sum fees and interest charges applicable to this fee, please attach or advise how I can get access to this information.
I look forward to your response within 40 days, as is obliged under the Data Protection Act 1998. If not I shall seek remedy from the Information Commissioner.
Any help would be greatfully recieved.
Thans,

Hi Longword hope your well.
You could complete the reclaiming questionnaire, this replaced the template letter, where the one you have is to request for the loan documentation, but you do not have to request for this if you already have details, or at least the loan account number, where they "may" send you a copy then free back with the first letter.
However, its up to you of course.
The reclaim questionnaire you will find on stage one of reclaiming, these were issued by the FOS to save time later on, so you keep a completed copy in case you need to complain to the FOS later on - or if your not happy with the final outcome.

They have 8 weeks, they may write to ask for more time.
Hope this helps, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi Di,
I really do not understand why this has to drag on for so long. This type of PPI should simply be refunded as they were obviously pulling the wool over peoples eyes...outrageous i hope the people who knowingly sold this particular type eventually get what they deserve...what goes around comes around!“most people give up just as they are about to achieve success”If you think you are going through hell keep going - Sir Winston ChurchillIf You Can't Change It, Change the Way You Think About It.SW, 13st5lb, -4 1/2, -1,(12st13.5lbs)0 -
Hi all
its my first post, even though i have been reading the forums regular. so I say hello. I have a claim in against Norton since April 2010, the loan was taken out with First plus. Its sitting with the ombudsman at the moment, and has been since August last year. Having read a lot on the forums and other forums it seems to me that Norton are one of the hardest to get your money out of them, even though they are quick enough to take it. I have one question though. If the ombudsman agrees with your claim will norton have to pay up strait away?0 -

Hi there
And welcome.
They do not have to agree with the adjudicators decision, but if the case is passed on to the ombudsman and he agrees the same decision as the adjudicator of it being upheld, then they must comply to this.
But sometimes they can still take some time to pay out.
Good luck on your case. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

FOS upheld our complaint re Norton mis selling PPI they wrote to Norton who diagreed. The complaint was then said to be waiting to see ombudsman (although i think the outcome of the court case had something to do with the long wait).
The complaint was passed to another adjudicator who again upheld the complaint and wrote to Norton again!
Had a letter from the adjudicator today who had again written to Norton to say they uphold our complaint re misselling of PPI. Norton are prepared only to offer alternative redress
''The firm should, for the purposes of redressing the complaint, use the value of
£9 per £100 of benefits payable as the monthly price of the alternative regular
premium payment protection contract. For example, if the monthly repayment
amount in relation to the loan only is to be £200, the price of the alternative
regular premium payment protection contract will be £18.''
I dont understand how much this would be on a £12000 PPI payment
So £1080??? WT..??
The adjudicator has said this is fair and reaasonable ...I dont think so
And why dont they give an example of how much this would be in their offer/letter to give the average person an idea of what this means in real terms
