Hi S&Scat - Lloyds are notoriously slow at paying out - can take upto 12 weeks, the problem is that Llloyds Insurance in Tredgar Way do the calculation then pass it over to the banking group for payment

yup wales do the calcs and bristol make the payments.

Quick question guys - I've just spend ages reading through all this thread and have seen very little about PPIs and Egg. I sent my claim questionaire in to Egg a couple of weeks ago and got the 'we are dealing/8 weeks' letter. Will they now have put it on hold, and if not, what sort of timescale might I be looking at? (My loan was from 2005 and the amount of PPI was around £2500)
Hi Caroline. unfortunately, we can't seem to get a pattern or any distinct criteria by which individual banks are dealing with current claims and one's they're putting on hold. If I were you I'd download a copy of the Financial Ombudsman Services' PPI Questionnaire and Complaint Form, that way you'll be prepared to take your claim to the FOS just in case they do put your claim on hold.

Tell me more! why do you think they are doing that?

they cant dry me out!! im a one man band that survived the bank charges outrage!

pete - pretty obvious is it not?

the big cmcs are spending millions upon millions advertising on primetime tv and fishing out tens of thousand of extra claims... which i have nothing against.. but the banks, for pretty obvious reasons do!

those operations must have mammouth monthly cash flows, would only take 3-6 months to flush em

little guys like you will survive but they are not really worried about a few hundred claims from you a quarter.

my overrding message is to the man/woman on the street NOT to be put off by wild claims of "holds" as they are meant to ward off claims...

KEEP COMPLAINING AND PUSH ALL THE WAY TO THE FOS IF NEED BE OR USE THE COURTS...BUT DO NOT GIVE UP YOU WILL BE PAID!

They'll probably PAY the big CMC's to shut up then!!!! Cheaper than paying the consumers maybe!

I have never seen any actual adverts?

If you think about it the CMC's often don't put claims in and then close down and open up under different names. The claimant then has passed the time to take to FOS and some don't pursue it anymore and give up.... you could even say that some of the claims companies are actually helping the banks already in a warped way of thinking!!

    put on sky sports news

    and sky news

watch for 30 mins and count em.... at least a dozen in that time!

costs about half a million a month to get that ad space.

i bet you they are putting in far more claims than they are not.. otherwise who pays the ad bills and wages?
