MSE News: Banks put PPI claims on hold in defiance of regulator

  • I have phoned the TSB today, they would only say they have been told to put everything to do with PPI reclaiming on hold. I explained that our case had been upheld by the ombudsman, we had accepted their offer and as it had been more than the anticipated eight week wait why had we heard nothing from them? They just repeated that they had been told to put it all on hold. Surely the FSO's decision is legally binding. Will we ever get our money?

Isn't there ANYTHING we can do?? I mean, they have rode roughshod over us for too long. Can't we all get together and start our own bank? :-)

If I was in your postion I would look down the route of pursuing it through a small claims court. A county court would in 99% cases follow with the decison the FOS makes

If you follow the process on the above link you might might get your money back before having to serve papers. There aslo the irony if the ignore you. You could be in the position to send the baliffs around to your local branch!

Go back to Lloyds asap and quote the following statement that the bank themselves gaved to The Times newspaper today..."we will stand by any settlements that have already been made"
Buy The Times and fax/post over this article highlighting this statement if necessary. Lloyds have given their word on this. What amazes me is that customers are expected to obey the rules ie. staying within an overdraft limit but the bank itself doesn't follow its own regulation rules. It is not just that you are a customer. you are also a shareholder!
  • What would we call the bank then? Here are some suggestions: Transparancy R us, Honest Joe and Co, oh and heres a good one - The Bank for England not of England. How about U Can Trust Us With Your Lifes Savings 4 Sure. The Pocket Liners Co. Backhanders Anon. Oh wait a minute I am giving banks that already exist a name!! Silly me.

forget this moaning, start facebook groups, twitter, and lets get a boycott on lloyds and any other bank that stops complaints.

lets make this big, lets send lloyds under, and see if they ever try to mess the consumer again.

idle moans on a forum achieve JACK
  • Dont be so dismissive of people and their comments. Whats wrong anyway with an idle moan when we cant do much else.

yeah, but we gotta start somewhere and if we don't moan then how are people to know we are unhappy. I for one have had just about enough of them, so if you want to start a facebook group - then I'm in. If anyone else has any ideas (no matter how silly you think they might be) post them on here. Let's try and do something constructive.

Now where did i put my placard ...............
