DH just rang and is at the airport so will be home late tonight. He's getting a couple of stocking fillers for DS1 whilst there, just something you can't get here now.

Going to do HHC to finish the kitchen and then start the dinner.

My friend came over today and has sorted out the bulk of my kitchen cupboards.

Results 3 very full bins, numerous bin bags of rubbish filled and discarded.

One steamer, a toaster, 2 frying pans, a huge bag of food stuff my friend will use, a few knives, and a couple of cans of guiness.

Worktops revamp, my friend has taken EVERYTHING out of most of the food cupboards and re organised or rather organised then, tins all on one shelf etc.

I cleared out the kitchen drawer which wouldn't shut, and binned about 70% of it.

The great declutter and clean up has begun.

My friend will come for a whole day next week, she's amazing and I'm beyond grateful for her help.:A

Accepting help has been a huge step for me, part of my Memory Girl revamp on myself.;)

Also hubby sorted the roof getting fixed, a broken tile was responsible for the water pouring in through the bathroom ceiling. The gutters were cleaned out at the same time.

Now we need to get the plasterers in, and then a bathroom suite....but it feels good.

Hubby rescreed a bit of the fireplace in the bedroom last night, he told me to have a look before I went to bed....he's wrote our names in the cement....how romantic.:happylove

toots I will try to be good honest I will! Had a long nap this afternoon

I have started a shopping list as DD and her bf will go shopping for us on Friday as they are going away for the weekend up to Leeds um that's it on a flying vein!!!
msgnomey - well done - so I stop practising my mule throwing!!! You should be doing your Christmas card and present lists while you are laid up - great chance to get organised - is your xstitching for presents? hope your soreness is easing off a bit. please be very careful (((hugs)))
vanilla well done with all your garden jobs - its good to get tidying done before the really bad weather
aj Nice to hear your new meds are more effective - just getting some sleep will make a difference - but what a lovely gesture from your colleague - especially when its so unexpected it makes a huge difference. writing down who you have to buy for is a great job for you while taking it easy and then you can think of ideas - browse through argos or M&S or debenhams or boots on line - that should give you some ideas to send you off in suitable directions!! Just as well you are taking it easy too - I am watching:p
PenPen and Dusty good to know your menfolk are almost home (((hugs)))
xxJoxx thanks honey - as you now know i slept ok. xx Could you do the 3 jobs on LO's room and that will be a room off your list? for what its worth I would try to concentrate on 1 room at a time so that you can actually see the difference and I think its quicker too!
But keep the other rooms on your list because you might think of other jobs that need doing or ones that you can break down a bit such as the sorting, cleaning of cupboards, shelves, drawers, each one is a little job and it may seem less of a task if you only aim to do one drawer/shelf/top of unit/wardrobe etc and it might take 5 mins whereas the whole thing might take 30 mins which you dont have xxxxxx

Shysarah (((hugs))) I am sure the pain will be making things much worse for you - can you phone and ask for a cancellation? be extra kind to yourself and just try to do 1 job in the day and even that little bit will make you feel that you are keeping things under control. Thank goodness puddy is ok AND keep posting.
rachelet well done with your 'targets' and its nice that hubby noticed:T

well what was going to be a good fun day turned out disappointing - my normal shopping person is on holiday so it was arranged that i would have another lady today instead of my normal wednesday and we would go round the charity shops as she loves them too - she has gone off ill last night - something to do with her diabetes and there are so many off on holiday or sick there wasnt anybody to take me out. I hope she will be all right as they said her blood counts were bad. I had to go to the bank so I still went and then had something to eat in town - its not the same on your own!
