My friend came over today and has sorted out the bulk of my kitchen cupboards.

Results 3 very full bins, numerous bin bags of rubbish filled and discarded.

One steamer, a toaster, 2 frying pans, a huge bag of food stuff my friend will use, a few knives, and a couple of cans of guiness.

Worktops revamp, my friend has taken EVERYTHING out of most of the food cupboards and re organised or rather organised then, tins all on one shelf etc.

I cleared out the kitchen drawer which wouldn't shut, and binned about 70% of it.

The great declutter and clean up has begun.

My friend will come for a whole day next week, she's amazing and I'm beyond grateful for her help.:A

Accepting help has been a huge step for me, part of my Memory Girl revamp on myself.;)

Also hubby sorted the roof getting fixed, a broken tile was responsible for the water pouring in through the bathroom ceiling. The gutters were cleaned out at the same time.

Now we need to get the plasterers in, and then a bathroom suite....but it feels good.

Hubby rescreed a bit of the fireplace in the bedroom last night, he told me to have a look before I went to bed....he's wrote our names in the cement....how romantic.:happylove

Triker thats brilliant about the kitchen - I know how you feel asking for help but once you see how much easier it makes your life you really wonder why you were so stubborn - I am soooooooooooooo pleased its working out for you all. Well done to DH for sorting the roof and I think thats is so lovely about the fireplace - you ARE lucky xxxxx
There's a few weeks left until the end of the year - it looks like the Triker household could be starting 2011 in a tidy and organised house:T:j:T:j:j

    love and hugs xxxx
    Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder

That's great news Triker :T:T I've just done myself a 30 day plan on A2 paper to deal with all the things that are blocking me from making progress. I have columns for health (so I'm getting back to running and eating properly, but have also sorted the dentist and optician which are months overdue), work (I'm behind on my publication schedule for this year, but should be able to get back on track if I'm careful), house (all those annoying little jobs that won't take long to do but never get done, plus getting back to flying daily) and garden (all the things that need sorting before the winter). We've achieved a huge amount in the first week. I've meal planned, started doing fitbug again, been for two runs, ordered the logs (arriving imminently, so we'll be stacking them this evening), been to the dentist and hygienist, found a local taxi firm to do my airport runs, finished an overdue presentation, painted the fireplace (plastered in March :o), put up some outside lights, worked out how to edge the new flowerbeds, cut one bed, replaced a light in the utility room, bought spare lightbulbs for all the different types of lights, and replaced the dead ones, planned the bathroom and booked a couple of plumbers to come round and quote (one more to ring...) and drilled the holes for the cupboard handles in the utility room. So if we deal with one thing in each column every day, we reckon we'll be in control of our lives rather than the other way round.

Now I just have to work out how to wow the audiences during my first conference season to make a name for myself ... I'm off on Saturday to sort out the remainder of my travelling wardrobe, and I have a haircut booked just before the first conference, but I need to get some help with my presentation skills... maybe I should check out memory girl's thread to see whether anyone there can help!

Better go and make sure the stove is still lit and wait for the log delivery :D

Toots thanks hon, it's such a great feeling getting started rather than adding it to the list each week. I'm sorry you've had a disappointing day, i hope tomorrow is better.xx

Triker Well done you :T:T:T I hope the work all goes smoothly.

Greenbee i know all about the small jobs that never get done. I still haven't filled the holes i made in DD's room last week. :o

Dinner all done and DW loaded, i won't put it on yet just incase the sparky arrives. Now to get the kids to all their clubs.

Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

OH commented yesterday that I wasn't zonked out on the medication like I should be, well on these new painkillers I can't seem to keep my eyes open. Or it might be that I have just spent too long staring at the computer screen playing solitaire, I have gone from 11% yesterday to 14% today, see I have achieved something today.
