I also enquired as I was with them over this period and like sirbrainy, also got told we were not overcharged. I left because the bills were extortionate and as much as I tried energy saving...the cost never seemed to come down. I am now with eon and paying £84 per month less and now just had latest bill and in credit and monthly d/debit has halved again.
I feel totally let down by npower.Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -
I received my letter asking me to confirm my address to get my £31 refund a few weeks ago. Confirmed this straight away but still not received my letter with the Post Office reedemable credit. How long has it taken for others to receive their refunds please?0

Mine took almost 3 weeks but it did arrive - eventually.0 -
Those who have been told they have not overpaid might have been on one of the following tariffs ?
Which customers are not eligible?
The following customers will not be eligble: electricity customers, business customers, gas pre-payment meter customers, Gas Guardian tariff customers, 2009 Price Fix tariff customers, Tracker tariff customers, First Step customers, Sign Online v8 tariff customers, and those with a debt greater than the compensation due.

I received my letter a couple of days ago saying I was due a refund of £9.64! When I phoned to ask how this figure had been arrived at I was told that the overcharge was only between May-October 2007. I was under the impression it was thru' till 2008 so I'm waiting for a breakdown of my gas charges to check it myself0

I have just received another letter from nPower which is supposed to be an explanation of the calculation. It leaves me even more mystified. It states:
6/9/2006 to 5/9/2007 932 excess units value £17.90
6/9/2007 to 5/9/2008 389 excess units value -£5.34
They are deducting £5.34 for an overcharge!!!
I have telephoned again and waiting for them to call me back.0 -

Thanks for the info. Would you mind copying and pasting your post on to this thread:

it is more suitable and will generate more response than this one.

I wonder if someone could give me their thoughts on my situation. My anniversary with Npower is late Nov, and I've received a payback of £35 - £45 (paperwork at home, can't remember exactly).
My understanding is this is due to primary rate units I was charged in excess of the annual maximum permitted. However, when I look at my bills (or rather the spreadsheet I keep of the pertinent details), I don't think I've had excess units billed - but I may not fully grasp which date range I should be looking at.
