Didnt put link to last diary oops. Was looking back to see where I was this time last year.
Debt was £13710 so back in a bit with new total.:jMay 2013 new beginnings:j0 -
 its £17000 but OH owes me £1900 for car and at least £500 for bills and xmas so that takes it down to £14500 so £800 worse than last year.
I am feeling much stronger since the move although I wouldnt call it an independant xmas as I spent almost a week at the house for xmas. Just got back today... miss the kids when Im not working but it is nice to just be in my own space.
OH stressing about the car as we dont know the cost to repair. Hope its below £500 as that means it will be easier to get the monies owed to me.
Did avoid Body shop 50% sale so some progress there!!:jMay 2013 new beginnings:j0 -
KP even though the figures aren't what you want, just imagine what it would have been had you not been on here, so really, a different way of looking at it is it could have been sooooo much worse. So, you're kind of in front really. Yes it's an insane kind of logic but it's logical to me

Onwards and upwards and we will get there KP.
We will do some little challenges just on our diaries if you want and post regularly on here. How does that sound?
Crikey it's eight o'clock already and I've got some challenges to do myself this evening lol although I have been doing a bit of knitting in between posting. What about you taking up a hobby such as knitting, garter stitch is so easy and make some of your 2011 Christmas Gifts. Maybe even list a couple on ebay and see how they go for a bit of extra income?
Youtube has brilliant tutorials if you're a bit rusty. And it's cheap!

Thanks Dizzy although looking abck I think my figure is wrong £17000-1900-500 is 14600.
Havent knitted since I was a kid never got past making scarfs and I leave sewing to OH! I do like the idea of towel cakes and other homemade stuff so might try that.
I think my challange needs to be along the lines of x amount to spend a week as grocery shop minimal and I spend more on the go with work. I need to prep more so less takeaway spending which should help with the clalories. The scales were scary this morning......- So weekly (tba) amount to withdrawn and spent
- Weekly meal plan inc lunches for above and to stop food spulrges
- Weekly completion of expenses so I know what I can claim
- Only put expenses such as fuel on credit card
- DO NOT fall for OH sob stories and be stronger
- Get last two bills into his name when contracts finished
- Start going to gym before membership runs out

:jMay 2013 new beginnings:j0 -
Those plans will make such a difference won't they? And most of them are actually really doable. Have you got a slow cooker KP? That way you could prep your meal the night before, pop in the slow cooker and have a lovely hot meal waiting when you get home. You can also freeze extra meals so saving bags of money and less time shopping
Also that will help with the calories if they are hearty vegetable stews etc
We'll have to choose a day to do our menu planning and shop, post on our diaries and that way we'll have to stick to it
I think you're going to get a lot stronger regarding your OH. As time goes on and all you want to achieve starts slotting into place such as less debt, less calories, more confidence etc you'll probably find that you start to move away from OHs influence a little bit more. It's bound to be hard at first though, you've spent a long time together and have emotional bonds so look on what's happened in the past as something you just had to go through in order to make you more emotionally stronger. Let's be honest KP you have done one of the hugest things anyone in a relationship can do and that's moving out because you knew it was the best thing for you. That is a massive leap in confidence for you KP :T

Wow. Just read old diary and all of this one. Tough times for you. I have walked in those shoes though. Even though I am in debt at least without ex I know where all my money is going. I can leave money lying around, I can save coppers, My balances balance etc. It is such a relief knowing where it is all going. I used to try and balance my account and then find out ex had signed a cheque in my name so we ended up with mega charges. That was only one of his tricks lol.Life is so much easier on my own with the kids, I get a bit lonely every now and again but the peace of mind is worth it all. Good luck to you on this journey and many congratulations on your promotion xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.000
