Meal Plans-Week Commencing 9th October 2006

Monday - HM Chciken Nuggets (from freezer) HM Chips, Peas & Sweetcorn
Tuesday - Roast Chicken, Roast Spuds, Veg, gravy & HM Yorkshire puds
Wednesday - HM Meatballs in sauce with rice
Thursday - HM Chicken & Leek Pie, Spuds, Veg & Gravy (Left over chicken from Tue)
Fri - Scrambled egg, sausage, beans & Toast
Saturday - HM Chicken Curry (from freezer) & HM egg fried rice
Sunday - HM Pizza
(I work weekends hence the roast in the week rather than Sunday)
Lunches = packed lunch for DH, Me and girls sandwiches or soup. (Gammon joint cooked, sliced and portioned in freezer. Soup also in freeezer plus will make fresh batch with this weeks carcus).
Breakfasts cereal or toast.
Snacks = Fruit, crackers or HM Biscuits or cake.
So all I need to buy is milk, fruit and Veg - maybe I will be ok for my Nov grocery challenge!!0 -
Here is mine from tonight!
Monday - Toad in the hole, veg and gravy
Tuesday - Shepherds/cottage pie
Wednesday - Beef stew
Thursday – Homemade chicken nuggets, chips and veg
Friday – Fish pie
Saturday – Pasta carbonara
Sunday – Full roast (leaving some chicken to make a chicken/rice thing on Monday)
Lunches – veg soup, cheese toasties.
Might swap Saturday and Thursday. Also borrowed some ideas as my mind goes blank!!! Just need to work out what to go shopping for now, think I need some fish, mince and bacon...oh and chicken...I have a feeling I have everything else! And of course any extra meat can be frozen (what would we do without freezers???).
BTW sweet potato and butternut squash (I think) soup today!Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!

Weds - Lunch: Carrot and Coriander soup Tea: Macaroni Cheese
Thurs - Lunch: Creamy Pasta Salad Tea: TVP and mushroom pie, roasties, B. Sprouts, Gravy
Fri - Lunch: HM tortilla wraps, broad bean guacamole, salad Tea: Chips, mushy peas, curry sauce
Sat - Lunch: Falafel, Pitta Bread, salad Tea: HM pizza, garlic bread, salad
Sun - Lunch: Sicilian-Style Split Pea Soup and crispbreads Tea: Spag Bol
Mon - Lunch: Stir-Fry Tea: Rice and Curry made with leftover odds and ends

I try to plan but end up winging as I keep changing my mind but here's my attempt.
Tonight - Chilli left over from yesterday's gathering
Lentil and sweet potato soup with pita bread and salad
Cajun style roast chicken pieces with spanish rice
Pasta Fagioli (pasta and bean soup), salad
Savoury chinese mince (Ken Hom recipe)and noodles/stirfry veg
Veggie curry of sorts - dalhs, aubergine, pepper, eggs, basmati rice
Brasied lamb and flagolet beans with pack of Italian style roast potatoes reduce from 1.79 to 30p. Good bargain but I'm sad as they are being discontinued
All I need to buy will be fresh fruit and veg, plus some milk.NSD 0/150 -
I'm a bit slow this week, forgot to post yesterday, but:
Mon: Spinach and ricotta pasta, HM garlic bread
Tues: Prawn Terriyaki, noodles, maybe seaweed
Weds: Spinach and cheese frittata
Thurs: Chili con carne
Friday: leftover chili with cheese/onion potato wedges, salad
Sat: HM pizzas
Sun: Toad iN the hole, veg0 -
Thank you for your ideas, they are certainly inspiring.
Yesterday we had tomato soup and beer bread which was very filling
Today I am making carrot and lentil soup, cheese and leftover bread and crackers. I have a Sharon Fruit, cape gooseberries and a banana - making a fruit salad from that
Pizza tomorrow from a buy two get one free deal

Not as home cooked as I would like this week as I am working the late shift at work and was not as prepared as I should have been so OH is taking over the cooking this week. I have the cottage pie in the freezer and thats about it.
BTW OH speciality mush is baked beans with scrambled egg mixed in and a tin of that bacon grill added to it. Sounds Horrible but is gorgeous!!!0 -
