I suppose we should feel sorry for them in a way! We've had our wake up calls that make us realise whats important in life and we go about trying to make better lives for ourselves. Those muppets can only put others down to make their lives seem worthwhile.

^ I don't believe those are the words of a genuine poster - more likey a troll looking for a reaction.
Some people however can be judgemental - but I always ignore the snide comments - when they become perfect I may take notice.0 -

No it was someone with a lot of posts and who had been a member for a while.
They claimed they were saying it sarcasticly but it's not very funny full stop! :rolleyes:0 -
Funnily enough MSE is the only place where I'm open about the actual amount of debt I have. Friends and family know I have credit cards but they would be horrified at the amount- but this feels fairly anonymous. Although I have been recognised by something I said in my debt diary so obviously not that anonymous!Debt at highest May 2006: £27,472.24

Have you really?
Thats why I don't tell anyone about this place! Sometimes I think I say a bit too much about what I'm doing coz if someone I knew read it they'd be on to me!

I don't hide my sig. I find it more embarrasing posting on here, and my debt not going down as fast as some of you guys get yours down, than I do elsewhere. Some of you are working so hard!
I prefer to keep it visible. Its motivating to me, and I don't care what other people think. I'm just glad that the numbers have stopped going up
, and are (ever so slowly
) going down. DFW Nerd No. 140

Yep, a girl from another of my forums where I use my real name and know everyone really well, turned out to be a DFWer too and recognised me from info I'd put in my debt diary. I don't mind though- I trust her to be discreet and anyway, she uses this board for a reason too so she's not likely to be judgemental about me!Debt at highest May 2006: £27,472.24

I am very open about my debt to friends and family, they are probably sick of hearing about it, but I decided to remove my signature a few months ago. I didn't realise either that you could choose to show or remove it.
Someone else mentioned the other day they had been recognised  I have posted about other things, which I wouldn't have done unless I thought it was anonymously.0 -
I got rid of my sig after loads of abuse.
My thread got deleted, then I got a couple of PM's which were abusive and so I just read this board now rather than post a lot.
I have to say that I have had LOADS of support from you guys here but there are the ones that like nothing better than to try and make you feel small so I just ignore it now.
However, once I have some updated news, i will start a new thread ... and I wont be as polite to the abusive posters as I was in my last one.0 -
