  • Ive tried a wee bit experimenting and baked a 50/50 wholemeal n white...I used programme 5,wholemeal rapid and almost followed the recipe on it for light wholemeal...But I changed the wholemeal/white ratio to exactly half n half, and it produced a very nice "50-50" loaf.

Just an update of fresh yeast. I as in Tesco's yesterday and got some (was making Panettone last night). I as told it costs 20p. I asked for about 200g, and it still had the label saying 100g - 20p. When I got some, it was over 300 g!!!! I would say it is very MSE ;-)

You are right, that is amazing! Will try next time I am in:)

  • Hi

another kenwood fan here - I lurve my hm seed bread.

Would like to ring the changes and would love a recipe for ciabatta.

Must experiment more, the kenwood has so any settings, but I tend to stick to the same loaves that I know work well.

Also had a thought, is there a way to make hm wraps ? Keep seeing peeps at work with them, but reluctant to buy them LOL

Brilliant thread, love to hear what recipes you all make

I have been thinking of experimenting with the programmes too. Don't know if I am brave enough yet. Swan is a bit of a programming expert for the BM! I am sure that if you put any questions up they will be answered if you have queries as you go along. :)

My BM is playing up. I only paid £5 for it so am not too worried. the pan keeps jumping iykwim. i press it down again but jumps up again when it's kneading.

if i can't sort it and have to get a new one, which one would you recommend and where is the cheapest place?
Amazon. Got mine for 89.00. think I may have answered you already. Having a bad week:o So if I have, pls overlook my stupidity!
Do you have the ciabatta recipe you were going to post? A few of us would love it:A

I'm still saving up for my BM, but I browsed through the reviews for the BM450 on Amazon yesterday and they shocked me. Half were saying that it is an excellent machine but the other half were saying it was total rubbish and warning people against buying it.

    What say you Kenwood-lovers?
