Good stuff! I just wondered. Being a bit of a newbie if it worked with other flour. Thank you :TIn the middle of difficulty lies oppurtunity0 -
Ive just ordered 15. 1.5 Kg bags of bread flour from Wrights for £11.25 delivered...(10bags of white and 5 wholemeal)..theres a link here on this post -
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2612205
to Wrights, and if you havent registered then when you go online to their site a pop up appears with a survey...at the end they give you a 25% off code to use online...and if you order more than 2 packs(10 bags of 1.5kg size)you get free delivery too...works out at 75p for 1.5kg(i think),thought this was a wee bargain due to supermarket prices increasing daily.
PS...original post states until end Sep,but theres a new promotion on now.Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.
Week 10,total weightloss is now 13.5lbs Week 11 STSweek 14(I think)..-2, total loss now 1 stone exactly

That is brilliant, thanks.
I am going to look tonight at whats on offer. :TIn the middle of difficulty lies oppurtunity0 -
I was thinking of getting the french flour from flour bin and doing hand made. (it is my new thing now)! But would like to try this in BM too.
I was looking through earlier for the ciabatta recipe, but no, it can't be on here.
I get a bonus at the end of the month and I am going to shop for ingredients then. Flourbin and Lupe Pintos will get some custom that week!:D I cant wait! I did a search for a drink to go with my Mexican night too and found on for the table, Lime Water to quench our thirst. Got some Tapas recipes to start and maybe Churros after. Not to mention the cornbread recipe! Now all I need is a night when we all free:beer:
I'd love to have a carte blanche spree at Flourbin & be able to order one of everything just to try out
I'll have to check my order & tell you the things I liked
that said, I still think Lidl's white bread flour is the best for performance & value that I've come across, it's been on offer at 50p for 1.5Kilos for the past week or so, but even at the normal price of 60+ it's still a great bargain
oh Lupe's :smileyhea I'd love to have a spree there too, I'm planning to make their Chilli Con Carne this weekend, I've tried it with diced steak & minced beef (both from my excellent local butcher) & the mince wins hands down, imho you get a better textural contrast between the mince & the pungent chunks of Chorizo
must check out the lime water I haven't seen that
I've got some hisbiscus flowers to try making Aguas Frescas, I love hibiscus tea, so I'm hoping it'll be something like that but chilled
I've been trying to find coarse cornmeal to make that cornbread, but my local supermarkets only have white, fine & medium
I think I'll have to take a trip across town to my favourite Asian grocer & see if they have any in stock
mmm I love churros, but I've never tried making them myself
what Tapas are you thinking of making?0 -
well done with your bonus :T

what Tapas are you thinking of making?
Spicy sausage and prawns in tomato ragu, ham and manchego tortilla, and calamari.
Aguas Frescas sounds lovely, I love a light, floral flavour.
Agua de lima is just 300m fresh lime juice, 150g caster sugar, 1 litre water, strain lime juice into water, add sugar and more lime to taste. add ice. Bit of a thirst quencher!
I am still going to go to the flourbin for special buys, when I get my bonus, but the wrights and Lidl are well worth knowing about. I am going through incredible amounts of flour these days!
I love churros too. good with hot choc with chilli!:drool:

I love limes & I'm going to try your lime drink recipe next time Lidl have their 7p limes on offer
some info about Aguas Frescas, I fancy the tamarind one too, but would rather use the recipe I have in a book that uses paste & saves all the hassle of dealing with pods
I'm off down to Lidl shortly for flour & some of my favourite olive oil, it's half price today & tomorrow, so I'm going to stock up
churros & chocolate yum, I took a pic of my friend when we were in Spain, the breakfast (what was left of it) somehow got into the frame as well0 -

They are such addictive little things. Have the recipe, I will PM you it if you like. My girls love them. By the time I make these things, there are none left for me. Fast or Last when it comes to churros! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Will have to be tomorrow or later in week for recipe, as I am out later on and at work right now.
Aguas Frescas sounds devine. Not sure of the Tamarind one. I can't even think what a Tamarind would taste like though! In the middle of difficulty lies oppurtunity0 -
Hi guys...just popped on quickly to say the wrights flour that i bought online has been working fantasticaly well in the BM...flour only delivered yesterday but last night i made a lovely crispy on the outside and moist, chewy, inside white French loaf(programme 5)...and today(ready in 10mins),a white basic, that looks perfect and smells deliciouse.
Ive also been cheating a wee bit with the kenwood recipes...ive been adding 2 teaspoons of Flora to the recipes(reducing a teaspoon of oil),and the bread seems to be more "springy"...youngest told me this morning she loves homemade bread and doesnt want shop bought again.Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.

Ok, I don't have breadmaker, but would love to (working on OH to get one - he is against any new gadget for the kitchen).
But i have noticed someone talking about fresh yeast and ordering it from Amazon.
Over the years I have got my fresh yeast from the supermarket - you just go to the bakery section and ask for it. I think Tesco used to give it for free, Sainsbury's add a price, but I can't remember how much. I always thought it was cheap...
If you go to the supermarket late, they might not be able to give any to you, as they 'close' the bakery section, so don't go at 10pm asking for it (although - you might be luckier than me!)Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

can you not sneakily buy one & present him with a lovely freshly -baked loaf ready for breakfast when you get up? he'd be bound to be so impressed he'll be pleased to have a new gadget!
when you do get one, make sure it's a Kenwood 450 or a Panasonic, the others just don't do the job well enough
if you've any questions before you buy, just come back & ask
I still make bread by hand too, I love the feel of the doughit depends on what I'm making & what time I have, & some things are better hand made & others the machine excells at
thanks for the tip about the yeast
hope to see you back here with your brand-new Kenwood0
