Yes they freeze well. I usually slice them up and freeze spread out on a flat tray. I use them in drinks such as G&T and nobody's ever noticed they're not fresh!
Tesco have actually started selling slices of frozen Lemon (and Lime I think) to put in your drinks........saw it advertised in a Tesco Magazine.

Last year at the end of the season I collected all the lemons off our tree (about 3 carrier bags full! gulp! AND we'd been eating them like mad people). I grated all the rind, juiced them, and froze the juice in ice-cube trays, tipping them into a big bag as the froze and adding more...
... it's been brilliant because all autum/winter I've had lemon juice to hand for anything i need it for, and rind for cakes and curd!!
Freezing in slices is an excellent idea too!

I did exactly the same as you but didn't think to grate the rind. Thanks for that tip.

I bought some reduced lemons and limes a few days ago and was going to grate rind and squeeze juice and freeze. However if I freeze them whole then thaw them before use can I grate the rind off them then or will it be useless?0

I would try grating the rind, while they're still frozenOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0 -
I think I'll try one first. I'll pop one in the freezer now then try grating it tomorrow, and if it works I'll do the rest. I honestly can't be bothered grating them all at once.0
