One of my cats is a bit of a fighter and often has a few cuts and grazes.

He has recently ended up with 3 grazes / bald patches on the back of his neck one of which is a bit red and raw.

Is it ok to put a bit of Savlon or TCP on this?

I did smear a bit on but he is insisting on licking it off. I thought the smell would deter this but apparently not!

I don't know how he got his injury but we have badgers and foxes that visit the garden at night. It could have been one of them. The cat has no fear and I have seen him squaring up to the fox and chasing it from the garden!

I'm worried that if he was bitten by one of these they will have passed on some kind of disease. He is up to date with innoculations but do I need to take him to the vet for anything extra for this?

Many thanks.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this: Sorry, giving or asking for medical advice is not permitted on this forum as it’s not what this site is about.
