  • But you have hit the nail on the head as to why 99% of people will stick with it because you hope against hope it will still go through, you know if you tell them to get stuffed you will not only lose all that money already invested but will guaranteed not complete at all until you start the process all over again.

I reined my temper in and think there may finally be light at the end of the tunnel, with Thursday as a possible moving day. I refuse to get excited after all the let downs. Just waiting to hear back from the solicitor later today to give me some kind of confirmation that I can finally start informing people of change of address, book a van etc.

I will save all I would really have liked to have said to the couple for daydreams, lol!

The suspense is killing me! The top of the chain are supposed to be signing today so we can all exchange today & complete on Friday - only a week late for completion but it feels like a lifetime. Fingers crossed everybody please! :o

  • Well, just as we were going to moan some more about a lack of decent properties in our price range on the market.. our buyer's bank refused their mortgage. Back on with a different estate agent, already got 2 viewings organised in a week.

    Onward and upwards!

Thought I'd join the club =)We were looking for 18 months and one afternoon THE house appared on Rightmove. We were the first to view it 2 days later and were back for 2nd viewing a day after 1st one:) Our offer was accepted a couple of weeks ago but there hasn't been a huge deal of progress since. Chain starts with us as we're keeping our current house for the time being but it seems our vendor can't find a flat where she'd like to move. She has just appointed a solicitor and our solicitor asked for a "search fees" cheque. I guess a survey will be organised soon, nervous about what it might tell us(house is about 80 years old, can't decide whether to go for a "full" one)

We've had to push, push & push some more to get it to happen - there's only 3 of us in the chain but the top wanted to stall & stall until us & our vendors ganged up on him ;)
  • Congratulations Skint_Catt!! Thrilled for you and fingers tightly crossed all goes well and bubs stays put!

Like you, we exchanged this week (Monday) and are completing tomorrow, and like you, almost a week later that we were told (doesn't every day feel like a lifetime??).

In our case we offered on a repo, so the offer was accepted 14th July, completing 25th August, so 5 weeks. The company that owns our purchase have been patient (the hold ups were not of our making) and understanding thankfully. The estate agent informed us yesterday that they had even had someone call to arrange a viewing yesterday and although they were not actively marketing it, they would not have been able to say no to anyone asking to see it. PHEW, that was a close one :D
  • Exchange date is now set for the 2nd of Sep with Completion on the 9th. See my sig for more details
Trying to remain free of unsecured debt and build up some savings.

Have done CeFA and CeMAP exams but no longer regulated.
  • Are we nearly there? FTB all exchanged completing this friday (I Hope!) spoke to solicitor who has said she has confirmation from Natwest that as long as they have availability mortgage will be drawn down tomorrow in preparation for Friday. I'm still on edge! is the end in sight?
