wooo hoo! We have the house back! :rotfl::rotfl:Not sure for how long though!:eek: Searches are triggered - they needed extra cash as the house has no HIP; I seem to hemorraging cash at the moment
Saw another one on saturday morning - really really pretty, beautifully decorated but really close to a super busy retail park and adjacent to the multistory car park that serves it. You can see it all from the top windows (I hadn't asked to see it originally because of this; but the EA suggested it when we called about another one).
But when we walked into the garden the neighbours whose garden backs onto this one are building something mahoosive (it seriously looks like another house!) at the back of their garden so the garden backs straight onto a really really high solid wall. *sigh* It's such a shame, it's a lovely house, it's just surrounded by horrible looking stuff.
I just had to give feedback to the EA who showed us round the two in the same road (the odd layout and the wreak). It's so hard to give feedback (although I always try). I really hope he finds a buyer for the first one; it's just not for us.

Good to hear most people are making good progress and getting good news!!
We are due to complete on Thursday. After reading some horror stories of banks pulling out on the mortgage offer days before completion, I am a little nervous!! I'm sure it'll all be fine though0 -

Good luck!! Have you exchanged contracts already or is that on Thursday too??0 -
Finally got my survey through and although he highlights a couple of issues which could be a bit dodgy, all in all for a 160 year old property it's in pretty good nick....so I've told the lawyers and the EA that we're good to go.
Omigod...this could really be happening....*hyperventilates into paper bag*0 -
Just put our first offer in, 119 for a house on for 140. EA says they won't go below 135 (rubbish!). Our limit is 128 so not sure where to pitch the next offer really...0

Hello....
Just thought i'd pitch in as well:
Offer accepted on 18th March, solicitors instructed same day and mortgage application sent off.
Mortgage valuation done on 25th March and mortgage offer came through on 30th March. Property off the market now.
Further homebuyers done on 4th April and report back soon after.
Just signed draft contract and posted it back to solicitors. Now just waiting for search results to come back after over 1 week, and for the vendors to respond to some basic queries such as fixtures and fittings....
Don't know why the searches and the vendors are taking so long (from my point of view lol) as they specifically said they wanted to exchange on 20th April.
Anyway hopefully we'll exchange in between the bank holidays (I've resigned myself to it not happening this week)0 -

We completed today
just over 3 months after our offer was accepted. We're moving in properly on Thursday.
I'm slightly daunted by all the work that needs doing, but looking forward to the challenge.0
