its not just cats who like christmas trees; some years ago we had a labrador, who out of the blue, developed a fascination for our tree - I came into the LR one day to find the tree on the floor, several old and loved vintage glass ornaments broken and the tree lights cable chewed right through!... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Our dog loves the lights, he sits staring at them longingly!! And the rabbit loves sitting underneath, have to be very careful though because she is inclined to chew the cables.0

We used to have a house rabbit that turned into a "bunny that lives in a forest" every year when the Christmas tree went up.
I have signed up to have a milkman from next week. It will save dragging the house elf to Asda for milk top ups during school holidays etc, and cut down on impulse spending I reckon. I have always wanted to have a milkman, but ours called after I had gone to work. Now I don't leave the house until 8:40am for the school run, we should be alright.0 -
Got a call from DIL at around 9am. Elder grand daughter is not well, coughing that sounds like croup, so we went to fetch her so DIL could go to work for the day.
She has had some hot, homemade chicken broth and a breadroll and is sipping on her nan's (me):D, lemon and manuka honey mixture.
She is currently prostrate on the carpet wrapped in a blanket near the gas fire, watching Mr Bean.
Hope she manages to doze off for a while, poor mite.:)
My DD is still in bed ill and says she looks like Rudolph, that's a week that she has been ill now.:(
It was minus 2.7 here at 9.30 am. BBrrrr:eek:Felines are my favourite

Our milkman is a diamond. He still delivers even if there is a blizzard.
:T
We get our milk, fresh orange juice and some really lovely eggs delivered.:D
You can buy some much off of them now, you needn't go out.:)Felines are my favourite

This year is the first year we'll be having the tree in the same room as the rabbits. One of them is a climber and the other is a big fat thing so I dread to think what's going to happen! We have cable protection for the lights and I think I might get a playpen to stand it in to keep them out, we shall see.
The announcement of the redundancies have been put off until the new year at DH's workplace. He knows his boss has agreed to take a pay cut and she seems to think they know how the restructure is going to go and is sounding positive. So we know we have a little more time to save and also that we can have a nice Christmas without thinking people are going to get the chop just beforehand. So that's a good thing.0 -

Cheap Baileys??! What is that? I love Baileys. but a cheaper alternative? Do tell! I want some!
You can get it from most places under a different name - Tesco do one called Irish Meadow(£4 a bottle) Asda it's called Irish Knights £4 Netto it's Golden Pastures and that's roughly £4 - some have a slightly less whisky taste and more of a chocolatey taste but personally i think all of them taste better than proper baileys!!! Aldi and Lidl do one as well but i've not tried them yet0 -

Parsonswife -if she has anything like croup try sitting her in the bathroom with the hot shower running, the steam really helps, my DS was admitted to hospital with it when he was in YR6 at school (few weeks before SATS) and had all sorts of emergency treatment, doctor said that we were really lucky!! as I had done the shower thing and that had helped.0

Thanks for good wishes and advice guys.:)
I've got GD up in my bed now, closed the curtains and she is under the 13,5 tog duvet and a throw. She's not too chesty now. I think she managed to get rid of a lot of mucous off her chest by throwing up, earlier this morning.
I'm slowly getting the fresh lemon, manuka honey mix down her, a half spoon at a time and after she had the chicken soup, it warmed her up and she got tired. hope she can sleep for a few hours.
My DD, who has been ill for a week, doesn't live here anymore, so can't nurse her unfortunately but her BF's mum is tending to her.
DH and I are on the soup now.:rotfl:Felines are my favourite
