Annie i'm so pleased for you, some things in life are just mean't to be and i think this is one of those times:).
I just want to give you a big hug, good luck and take care.0 -
Aww, congratulations Annie, Monty and little Miss Monty. That's fabulous news.
Right, I'm off to do battle with the school today. The house elf has slight reflux, and has been bringing up mouthfuls of acid stuff from his stomach here and there and complaining of feeling sick. He won't take medicine, so the best cure we have discovered is a few dry mini weetabix. It's been happening in school as the only snack they have at break is fruit, and he just won'teat fruit. I asked him last night if he could just eat some to save all this fuss, and he was gagging while he was describing to me what eating a banana is like for him. Last Thursday I sent the 4 mini weetabix and his teacher said she would ask....Thursday night she says it's against the schools healthy eating policy. I said I didn't agree, and she said she would explain again.
Nothing Friday - child ate weetabix and didn't feel sick. Yesterday he was told to put it back in his pocket as it wasn't allowed. He was upset when I picked him up. I could go and get gaviscon off the doctor, but it takes 3 people. One to hold him down, one to put the medicine in, and one to hold a bowl for when he vomits. Hopefully his headteacher will see the light when I explain.
It's at times like this that I wish Grumpy's dad was still alive to go and sort it out for me. It's not the end of the world, but I could do without it.
Oh, and I've paid £3 for him to go on a trip to a free museum. That sounds reasonable for the cost of transport. What they don't know is that we've been several times before, and he knows where all the nude marble statues are:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Had to join in to share the fab news - congratulations Annie and Monty!!December GC: £3500

What wonderful, wonderful news, Annie - I was so hoping that it would go this way (although I wasn't expecting it to be this quick!!
)
FAbulous - you can see how pleased we are for you on here
You take care of yourself!!
Cranky - argh! Our primary has a similar HE policy (f&v only) Thankfully I've had kids there for years (widish age gap) and was chair of PTA and OH was chair of Govs so my DS2 'gets away' with having breadsticks - he can't do banans/ oranges/ carrots - it's just not within his limited food remit.I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
awwwwShegar - life must be very tough... From your posts you are obviously coping really well - hugs to you and I hope you are getting the support that you need - keep going hun xxxxx
Eh thanks all of you, yes its hard, I havent always coped well with this ive had real bad times, but after just over 2 yrs I have got to accept gary the way he is , I really miss my freedom just popping in my car to the shop or hairdressers for a couple of hours, sort of thing.....I now have to rush down grab the papers and milk and go home PDQ.........he cant be left on his own........
No one ever prepares for this sort of thing to strike you down, so when it happens basically you have to get on with it........I dont get anycare of Social Services, but they do give me a 2 week respite per year where they pay for gary to go in to nursing home, so I really do have to do as much as I can in that time to keepup to date with things, etc etc....
If I get ill they do take gary into nursing home at their expense, because im not too good you never know when illness will come.......
Ive been diabetic for 34 yrs now and on 4 injections a day with arthritis etc.etc.....and have got diabetic problems now my sugars just drop with no warning signs............we are a right pair trying to help each opther out, we do have a laugh about it ,you have .........
But I must say we do have a beautiful bungalow with good GCH and its quite spacious , gary built the extention just over 2 yrs ago...........we had a DFG from the local council and we have a lovely big walk in shower and gary as a water chair so he can shower himself, I do the drying , dressing bit........plus council did the ramps outside etc. etc. did take them 14 months to consider it but now its done.:D........its no way an ideal life , but we just get on with it, one thing he has got and thats a wicked sense of humour,:D he was always like that, his friends say thank god he as kept his speech, our little grandson lewis is 7 yrs old , and he say grand dad make so much mess at the table you would think he was 6 :eek: cos lewis loves it cos he now feel abit older than grand dad at 7...... when gary say to me or lewis can you pass me the salt please, then he say can you pass me the pepper please..lewis say grand dad all you do is WANT WANT WANT.....!!!!!!!!!....we laugh so much about that little boy and the things he come out with, he really keeps us going.....:D:D...I feel so much better just telling you that little tea time story means alot to us though, lovely. bless you all.....:T0 -
Well Done Annie. I was wondering why we had not heard from you for a while.:D:D0

What wonderful news Annie and Monty! Many congratulations! All these babies due next year!:j I went and picked up a mothercare catalogue to get ideas for coming grandchild and got very confused when I looked at the new travel systems!! lol In my day (don't I sound old?;)) it was a choice between a carrycot, pram and stroller!!:rotfl: So relieved we have chosen to buy the cot instead! The amount of baby equipment on offer now is mindblowing! Also expensive but a friend (with 4 grandchildren) told me there was an online shop that sold these things at a discount so must ask her about that.
Still trying to decide what colour to knit the baby blanket in! Our market sells huge 200g balls of baby wool for £2.99 in blue, pink, white, cream, mint green and lemon. What would be an acceptable colour for a yet to be born baby? I have found 3 lovely patterns online (free) and have the needles ready.
Brrr it is getting colder here now, I have found some sleeveless summer tops which I am going to wear as vests. Remembered when I was a venture scount, many years ago, to wear lots of layers to keep warm, traps the heat in.
Off to the dentist later for a checkup but also I have been getting some pain:( fingers crossed it won't be an expensive job! While there I shall stock up, at the nearby asda for ourselves and my neighbour to tide us over the bad weather. My neighbour is diabetic and has said that she must keep up a good supply of the right carbs in.
(((hugs))) to Shegar and dh and all who need them!
