At the risk of sounding like Pollyanna - try to take a reality check and count the things that you have that money can'y buy and just let your mind wander on how much worse things could be... and count your blessings.
Be kind to yourself
If you feel down - have a little cry or a damn good wail! let your feelings out! You're allowed - its your life and sometimes you just have to do what you need to do! Don't feel guilty! Its perfectly normal and natural - you're not being weak or inadequate - anyone else in similar situation would feel the same.
I have found myself choked up at work quite a few times recently - listening to some of my customers spill out their worries and fears on how they are going to manage on their own with their children this winter and 'afford' Christmas - its not professional (or helpful) for me to cry with them even though I could easily
Take care everyone x
Good post...:D
I do tend to agree with the "count blessings" thing as well - having only earlier today thought about the number of times in my life where if I had made a different decision to the one I actually made then my life would be a LOT worse than it is. So I was going through the times where the "road forked" in my life and "counting blessings" for each time I had chosen the "right fork" in my life.
...hmmm...that will send me off now wondering whether there are any times where I chose the "wrong fork" of course:think:.
But I do think that provided people/myself choose the best possible course of action at any given "fork in life" then we have done the best we possibly can with the circumstances "at our disposal" and we can count blessings for having chosen the "right fork in the road" - because we have done the best we can with the resources (time/money/emotionally/etc) that we had to hand. Thats what we can do - and all we can do ultimately - ie make the best choice out of our available options and then count our blessings that we made that "best choice available".
<...and ..yes....give thanks to one hugely busy/totally shattered by now Guardian Angel if we do think we have made "right choices" at the forks in the road in life...because I know mine must be totally/absolutely shattered by now at the number of times they have had to "steer ceridwen in the right direction".......> So...maybe I ought to count blessings personally for such an indefatigable/energetic "guardian angel"......(as I do believe personally that we all do get one "allocated" to us....)0 -

Congratulations. Great news! So reassuring when people on here are able to post good news. No doubt some of here will be thinking "Wish it were happening to me". Hopefully next time round it will be !0 -

Well done great news, :j0 -
I had to go into my nearest town today and I couldn't wait to get back home again. I had medical and hairdressers appointments so it was a case of having to go. I had a quick zip round a couple of shops but I find that shopping has lost any appeal for me (although it was never one of my favourite occupations).
JackieO said on another forum that she had only 3 days shopping out of the 18 days in November. I think I'll try for one shopping day per week instead of as and when like I do now. This time of year is awful if you hate crowds and queues. Perhaps that's why so many of us are feeling a bit down?" The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

Fantastic news v8monkeyboy and your oh i'm so happy for the both of you!:j:T:j
well i have one pressie down courtesy of ebay, it arrived well packaged so i'm chuffed. Feeling quite relieved in a way. Need to drop a package off tomorrow, fingers crossed the other three things i;m watching will come come out half the price. Well i cna dream!
Now a little question:
Snips, he's 6 years old, has asked for a blue play house that was in the charity shop last week. He's absolutely besotted with it.
Me and OH are wondering whether to get him it, as we don't want him to be picked on by his friends.
Now he has a pink play house, which we made together out of an old carboard box , he picked the colours, etc He was so proud of himself.
so what do you all think, should we get / not get him it?
I honestly want all opinions and i promise won't be offended by any responses.
Thanks all!0 -

Yes I would get it for him, he is besotted with it. He will deal with his mates.
My youngest daughter was always very meek and physically tiny and we always worried about her being bullied. Somehow she always found a way to avoid it, sort of 'ducked under the radar'.
Trust the child as they say.0
