Morning today trying to get motivated to declutter house and clean again.

    Aim is

    bin a lot
    organise what im keeping
sort pile for ebay and list this weekend.
    polis and hoover
    deepclean bathroom and kitchen
    catch up on all laundry.
sort out pile for loft dread to think whats up there will eventually deal with after 3rd and final baby is born.

    In the kitchen
make sauasage casserole and freeze in tubs.
maybe make a cake will see how go for time.-teacher training must do something to occupy bored 4half year old.
make a loaf of whomeal bread

stocktake cupboards make a list of what we need next shopping trip as nearly out of plain flour and need more herbs.

For hubby because I love him

match up most of his odd socks-anyone else hate doing this job.
lots have holes in but not sure ow to darn, is it sewing up hole but then may not fot-sorry is simple question but times are hard best look at the sock issue!

He wants patch sewn underneath rip in jeans on leg personally I fear it may look rubbish but will see.

Need to set up all my sewing stuff to use again.

Need to sort out clothes I detest and sadly dont fit and relagate to loft he needs a capsule wardrobe and few new things for xmas.
His diet never seems to start and sick of nagging him to pack in the fags.
wondering if I can adapt things he has with my limited sewing skills.

Got to make outfit for daughters nativity says brightly coloured tunic-Would taht be similar pattern to tabbard was thinking 2rectancles with chucnky straps sewn on and ties maybe?

Making new pram blanket and could maybe be ruthless with whats in airing cupboard.
still need to make my draft snake think my nan made hers with tights.
Anyone else hoard old bedding in airing cupboard we need new stuff but reluctant to bin old stuff incase we need it, hubby says im a fruitcake

Cant wait to get to ikea for kitchen stuff and primark had best fleece blankets.

Wish we had a b and m or homebargains local.
Apart from poundstretcher/wilkos its trip to city centre

Cleaning wise I wish I knew more oldstyle rceipies.

Think I read vinigar and newspaper ok for windows.
got how clean is your house book off hubby 1 xmas iin hope it make me better housewife but never happened.
Washing powder try buy in bulk big boxes asda and pound stretchers seem to be best deals. have used supermarket basic own brand thoough too.
Rarly use fabric conditioner but sign up for free samples.
washing up liquid always fairy or own brand never valeu as find false economy.
    sainbury basic polish think.
my local corner shop often has cleaning stuff cheap like thier capet mouse huge can for 1.39 when vanish 3quid.
I like shake and cvac would bicard soda deoudurise carpets too from toddler wee accidents?

With cleaning kitchen i got big spray bottle and sainsburys basic dettol 45p big bottle and fill it part dissinfectant and part water as guess it still kills germs and smells clean.
use wetwipes a lot to clean house, get basic bog roll and kitchen rolls a rare treat.

Babys still asleep think shes poorly and tired so far half done main bedrooom nearly filled a bin bag, organised books, moved some stuff, stripped beds and put washing on.
Need top polish and hoover, sort out paperwork and dvds next before moving onto clothes.

Wet and cold here so may hiberanate all day indoors as no school runs.Hubbys on a late so got 2 very tired grumpy kids to contend with and morning sickness.
Hes suppost to be day off tommrow but now got job intervewi miles away for job hes not sure he wants.

whats worrying me about csr with people I know real life and off mums forum is they so quiet and nonchalent dont think we yet know who exactly will be affected and by how much. a lot of cuts been delagated to local council so it really could depend where you live what services get cut.

I think we equiped with it as oldstylers adapt.
Have tried giving advice to struggling mates but fear they think im extreme and thourght of changed lifestyle or going without terrifies them.

I am certain that a lot of information on the previous threads is still relevant today and it would be a shame if they were lost forever. Also, on a purely personal note, I have never read the originals and it would make it so much easier to find them :o:D. .

Em sure i put them up on the first page will go and check now.

    Just checked!

Yep i did put them up:

the first is kittie's thread starting back in 2008 and second is the one ceridwen started earlier in the year.

hmm i'll have to see about making them bolder so its easier to see them.

For anyone who might like to read Kitties's original thread..... I have put a link into my post (2nd post of thread) on the first page . Lots of useful info there and I'm going to reread it and make up a personal list like alec eiffel has. Will post it on here if anyone is interested?

Kezlou: If you wanted to put it into your post instead, feel free and I will then delete it from mine. Just thought it would be an idea for one of us at the top of the thread to do it so that newbies can find it easily

    Dammit cross posted!!!

Kezlou - there was an even earlier one in 2006, which is the one I have put in.
  • Gailey - for patches on jeans, I put the patch on the inside and zigzag stitch it on, depending on where the hole was it can look as if it's deliberate ;)

Trying to catch up on previous posts but not succeeding at the moment. Debate is a good thing here as long as it reverts back to money saving topics fairly quickly. I know it helps when you read how some of us are overcoming difficulties, personal as well as financial.

On a financial note, let's be strong and be sensible over Christmas spending so that January can be just another month instead of a dreaded one when the bills come in. Apply the same tactics as you do for purchases throughout the year and don't get carried away by the buzz.

  • I find zigzag stitch to be a bit stronger, maybe its just personal preference. As for socks, I don't know, I throw them in the bin :o *Hangs OS head in shame*

  • Oh and I always keep some square off of old jeans that are beyond redemption in my sewing box for this job. Or an old pair of kids jeans from the CS. I'll get choked for telling you this, but my OH always wears out the crotch on his jeans :D:o
