Ooer Annie?? this new man sounds wonderful, does he have an equally wonderful single brother between 45-55 ish, give or take a decade either way. All the best for tomorrow, I don't know the story behind the soon to be ex & his floozie but I bet him calling & grovelling has you smiling.
Why do people think that people with children would want to spend that sort of money on a hen night, especially that close to Xmas. A night out at 25 weeks pregnant sounds like a nightmare, with everyone else p'd out of their heads. you sound as though you have your priorities right & if the hen can't understand it, then maybe she's not that good a friend to keep.
Youngmummy, try not to stress too much over presents for others, tell them that your priorities are to ensure you have an enjoyable time & won't be getting into debt, therefore you're not in a position to give presents, if you feel you have to give something, give a nice photo of the baby in a frame. Charity shops, poundland, 99p stores always have lots of frames. Just concentrate on having a nice day.
Good luck everyone with interviews etc.
Hugs to everyone, whether you need them or not

Hi All,
Sounds like a few of us are having some good luck for a change.
AnnieG I'll crosss my fingers for you but afraid I stop there!
Annie56 Wow what a week, good luck with tomorrow and even better luck with the new blokey he sounds a love.
I've had my appointment with the consultant today - 12 weeks pregnant and had a C last time so had to see the consultant this time, he was really reassuring and happy with how I am and prospects of doing it the way nature intended this time (sorry if TMI) and doesn't need to see me again ti I'm 36 weeks! Yay!
Came back from the hospital and made greengage jam with some greengages I found on the market earlier, never seen them for sale before and they were dead cheap too. Also had lovely curry night with OH and our best mate who lives around the corner, very proud of my boys who have stopped saying "where's the meat?" as now I usually make lovely cheap veggie curry.0 -
Good luck to the Annie56 and AnnieG and everyone else who needs it. Was wondering if you lovely people could help me? Did a roast chicken on Sunday and following the advice on here, stuck the carcas in a pot of boiling water with a carrot and an onion to strip it. Was lifting it off the oven when I dropped it and it spilt over me!! I'm o.k, apart from a red patch on my leg, cos I had thick tracky bottoms on that seemed to cushion the blow and I did do a strip straight away in the kitchen, in full view of my neighbours!! I'm more annoyed at the losing the stock and now the floor is like a skating rink!! I have tried wiping it with stardrops, but it's stilll greasy, what can I use?0

Oh no! Glad you're ok'ish...I'd try white vinegar, it should cut through the grease. Either just vinegar and water or you could add some stardrops as well. Try experimenting with both.Piglet

I'm not having a Hen night at all, my wedding gift list doesn't exist as we don't need anything, we've been in our house for 6 years now, I'm making bunting with fabric from my stash to decorate the garden & gazebo's & I've started collecting all the odd paper plates & napkins that I can from family & friends. This wedding is going to be frugal & I'm unanimous in that as Mrs Slocombe would say.

Thank you - I wondered that too!!!!!!!!
Annie56 - congratulations on your new beau. He sounds fantastic and you obviously seem to be hitting it off. Its nice to see you POV about children in a relationship as thats the same view I took when I got with Owen and J was 18months old. (hes now 9!) and my view was if anything ever happened between me and Owen a new partner would have to except the kids were there and came first - and if they couldn't then it wasnt meant to be.
Anyway ignore KH -- go and have a nice evening with your daddy, and good luck for the morning and being a single lady again ---- well somewhat now Martin (??? is that what you said his name was?) is on the scene.:D:D:D:D
Well yesterday I decided to get weaning under way with Holly - she's 13 weeks and we are still taking it slow. She had some apple and banana breakfast yesterday morning with a few ounces of milk, then had chicken/vegetables and rice for her lunch about 2.30 (once she'd woken up) which she loved with a few ounces of milk to wash it down. a bottle at 3.45 - 4ish. Then had a nap from 5.15 - 6. woke up about 7. Wriggled an d played till 9 when she had half a rusk in a bed bottle and fell asleep. put her in cot at 11. She slept until 2, then was back up at 4, then up at 6.30 and she's still snoring in bed and I'm up and wide awake with Benjamin. She was really good and almost sleeping through when she was little - now I've no idea what's going on. Will give her her meals today now - she only had 2 teaspoons worth of food but she can have a slightly bigger portion today as she wolfed those down and might try a warm bath and a full rusk in her bottle tonight. x
Job for today - I will be coming home and napping mainly whilst Owen watches Holly Dolly. 13 weeks of night feeds and early mornings by myself is taking its toll and Im shattered. Although with all the running around I now weigh 12st 0.75lbs which is lighter than I was before holly!!
Holy flip - a team of gritters has just gone passed the window - o winter shes a coming!
RE : WEDDINGS
i was in a similiar position last year with a hen night - my best friends sister wanted to take her away to a spa and it was going to cost £150 for the night and spa use. I simply couldn't afford it so I told her. Then she changed to a meal in the local town with drinks afterwards.I asked to miss the meal as it was a set menu in a chinese restaurant and Im weird with unknown foods. She was happy for me to do that and then we had a dance/drinks (coke for me as I haven't drank in um........8 years now) and unbeknownst to me I was 8 weeks pregnant! and even worse the other Sam at the party was very intoxicated and she was 12 weeks pregnant with no idea either!
Also for wedding prices - that's why me and Owen are happy as we are. He always says when he is debt free we will get married and I can have my dream wedding day without worry but my dream wedding day would be me, him , kids and a few witnesses somewhere pretty. The idea of lots of people starring at me scares the wotsits out of me and I really don't see how people can have 300+ guests! I now my minimalist wedding will never happen as I'm from a broken family so they would all want to be there and I think if me and Owen ran off we wouldn't be able to come back as my dad, nan and his mum would be waiting like a hit squad at the airport arrival lounge!Time to find me again0 -

..and did you decide what would be appropriate in the end for a pagan of a certain age to wear to get married in? (saw your blogging wondering what to wear.....)..0 -
