Greenbee would this article help re your talk and subject matter?

I would look at injecting some humour into the talk, e.g. introduce the subject with a grand flair and panache, really, really build it up and then....announce with a flourish that you'd got your subject matter mixed up and we're going to talk about 'the subject'....:D

  • I like it MG- have shared the link on my FB page. Hope that's ok. Sorry i haven't been able to do more lately.

Memorygirl, this is one glorious post. It is not often that I read something and feel its vibrations resonating through me like the sound of twenty African drums. This is what happened when I read your post - and for this I thank you.

I have no doubt that the places on the courses will be booked and that the books will sell - the Universe is with us and we are with the Universe. As to climbing this mountain - you have already started; in fact you are so much up it that the only way is to the top. Go, my dear, and for my part I'll support you with what I can.

    A very emotional (uncharacteristically)

  • I thoroughly agree Firewalker- meant to say that myself. :)

I hope the bookings are coming in thick and fast MG :D
Passion, I believe is the key. The subject matter can be as boring as hell, but if the person presenting has passion it draws me in like a moth to a flame, no matter what the subject matter. People think with their emotions, subjectively rather than objectively ( for a beginning anyway it gets people listening).
After that its upto you to keep them engaged.
Volume, tone. pitch, & pace. Colour what you are projecting with tone variance, emphasise syllables and don't shorten them. and so on and so forth.
    Sorry just my opinion . . . . . . .:D
    Thanks...
OOPS - forgot to say Greenbee, I'm doing an MA is coaching at the moment so if you thought any over the phone coaching might help just PM me

Article is great thanks. Sadly work make us stick to a rigid structure (and they've been ripping out everyone's graphics this year too, to give the material a more consisten 'corporate' look... pity they didn't tell us they'd be doing that before we all put the work in!)
