Guys just a couple of things...

I can't find MG's homepage - I'm putting it down to the Friday feeling! Can anyone give me directions?

Karmacat - I try to buy green products but trying to find out which products actually make a difference seems really difficult to find, if I had this information I might be less price sensitive. I think its the same with organic food.

MG - absolutely amazing post MG, amazing.... I felt every single word of that post, you've reduced me to a quivering heap.

In a past life I too have gone cold, hungry and done without to ensure my kids did not, I wish you every success in the world, you deserve it.

Website looks excellent MG - very clear and concise, and with all the relevant info in place, plus the means for people to decide on the spur of the moment to either book, or buy, I should imagine it will serve you well.

KC - your green question is an interesting one. Having spent time in the Hebrides you rapidly realise that in some places a requirement to be "green" is more important than in others. When you live in a town or a city, you tend to discard things without a second thought, then the bin men come along and off go your rejects to the landfill site, which you're probably never going to see or even, really, think of. When, however, you are somewhere that the landscape around you is both fantastically beautiful, and also limited in terms of area, it brings it down to you how important it is not to fill up more of that wonderful landscape with landfill sites than you absolutely have to. For me, that is the real "green issue" - the amount of stuff that people just throw out without even thinking "can I use this in any other way?" "Is it really at the end of its useful life?" "If I can't use it any more, could someone else?" or "If it's no use to anyone in it's current form, can it be recycled?" Having said all that, I'm happy to use green products, and even to pay a little more for them, so long as it is clear and obvious why that premium is being attached. All too often it seems as though companies making green products simply work on the basis that they can increase the price by 50% simply because the word "Eco" is on it somewhere. I'd really like to see more "practical education" on the issues of recycling and landfill though. Everyone is so hung up on Climate change (and there's a whole other issue) and carbon footprints, they seem to be forgetting that we are in real danger of turning our island into a giant rubbish dump. Sorry - a bit rambling, but hopefully there will be a crumb of something useful there somewhere! :o

  • Just home from work - wow! Blink and you miss it eh!!

The website is excellent - although I do agree that taking some money from interested parties - even a 10% deposit at time of booking is a sensible idea.

Much better priced books (glad I got mine while it was cheaper tho ;))

All the success in the world (or universe if you prefer) because you deserve it

  • Love the website. Maybe it would have been an idea to secure a deposit through the website at the point of epressing an interest But I am sure you have the mechanics of payment before the day clear in your planning. I wish you every success, well deserved.:T
