Hi all,
Loving the quotes - I think I might need a quote wall in my new place!
I would just like to share a matrix success story. I got back to Aus in March and the plan was to get a job, and buy a house. Unfortunately the area I work in is very specialised and hard to break into, and I wanted to be in a job that I could do my research for my masters before the end of the year (have to start applying for ethics approval in Jan!). The job hunting was absolutely soul destroying, but with the help of the matrix positivity I got through the application process for 4 jobs - and got the job offer today for a job that may well be perfect for me! Very excited! The first job that I applied for I thought was my perfect job - but having worked there at a more junior level for the last 3 months I realise that it wasn't my perfect job at all, and the other jobs that I have done since getting back have given me invaluable insight into how things work here that I would never have gotten otherwise. So maybe things happen for a reason! Thank you universe!
As for the house hunting - when I first got back I said to my parents that I wanted to buy a unit where I lived when I studied at Uni - and today paid the deposit on a little 2 bedroom unit in the same complex! Thank you universe!
As some others have said recently, I was unsure about The Secret, and had actively avoided it until it was discussed on this thread. I have got a copy of the ebook from another matrix member (thanks Scottishlass) and do intend to read it as I have been trying to follow some of the principles. The way I have found it so beneficial is that I keep putting myself out there and focussing on what I wanted. I wanted my perfect job, so I just kept going through the application process until that job came up, rather than giving up after the first (or third) try and saying I wasn't good enough.
I have always been brought up to believe you make your own luck - opportunities present themselves to you, but you have to grasp those opportunities for anything to come of it. One of my best friends commented recently that she was 'lucky' to get pregnant within a week of starting to try, but she wasn't 'lucky' as such, she had been planning for 3 years, lost weight, made sure she was healthy, was taking all the correct supplements, knew her cycle, and therefore was pregnant very quickly - through planning and hard work rather than luck. I guess it just depends on how you look at it!
Sorry, didn't mean for this to be such a long post!
Thanks to MG and everyone for their positivity and motivation that has helped me to get where I am now!

Aussie
I've always believed in being able to make your own 'luck' too to a great extent. It always reminds me of this quote:
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.0 -
Congratulations Aussie on all counts. Thats amazing.
:T:T. Its great to hear when good things happen. Well pleased for you.0 -
Well Done OO on the collection point
Troglodyte what day do you plan on going to the collection point I realise I have a nightmare logistics problem as my last shirts won't arrive until the 23rd and I see the cut off point is the 25th and I cant get down there until the 27th but I might be able to get to your neck of the woods assuming you were going 24th or 25th. Is anyone going to Leeds able to take what I have now and then perhaps I could courier the remaining ones to Herts?
Typical that my diary is full just at the wrong moment :eek:

I'm hoping to pack them up on the 29th and have them collected on the 30th......
If you pack them & label them according to some as yet unknown criteria that'll give you a couple more days?........:)0 -
Right, I am finally in a position to explain a bit more about my business plan. The first thing I need to say is a big THANK YOU to you lot, as the positivity on here (and the MD&M thread which was where my virtual kick up the 'arris started) has gone a long way towards making me believe that this can actually work.
My intention is to offer administration and office services to small businesses - so anything from filing and general organisation to form filling and typing, whatever that individual business is in need of getting done, basically. I am planning to work mainly for companies in my local area, and will offer them a "charged by the hour" service where I can work for them from as little as 2 hours a week if that is all they need. My current client who I am doing two days a week for is a small firm of solicitors - literally just the two partners - who desparately needed help with the paperwork but didn't think they could afford it. I think they are now starting to come round to the idea that they can't afford not to, instead! I have you lot to thank for the name of the business too - as my newly designed letterhead is in the name of Matrix Office ServicesDomain name just bought although no website yet - OH needs to help me with that one - and the first draft of my leaflet to drop round to small businesses just completed as well.
As a business idea, it's been kicking around in my head for about 15 years, but now just seems like the perfect time to have a crack at it. :j🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
