    Evening all

Had my second interview this morning - bit odd really; met with one of the senior managers who asked me to detail my experience (which I did) and then said the job role had changed to possibly include something else which I don't have any experience in at all so I said I would be keen to learn (which is true - it's something I would like to do). I was honest and straight at all times; I have made no promises that I can't keep nor have I exagerated my skills in any way. I am one of six candidates that have been took to this round and they will make their decision on Monday afternoon and let us know as soon as possible after that.

I'm away to England for a long weekend with family in the morning so I've been busy washing, packing and organising step-kids for the weekend and will be glad once we're there :D

OMG, The Universe will give you what you ask for. My DD who was made redundant from her dream job after only 10 weeks with the company (she has been temping ever since)> Has just been contacted by the company that originally employed her as estimator/co-ordinator, project and quantity stuff and offered her old job back at a much higher salary. SHe has to go in on Monday for an informal chat re contracts etc, etc., and starting date.
I'm so relieved, was scared to ask for anything for myself until this happened. It may be pure coincidence  but I'm leaning towards the Universe.

    Dont think I explained properly.
She worked for X company for 4 years and left them for her dream job with Y company in August. Y company made her redundant after 10 weeks, cutbacks etc along with 20 other staff, last in, 1st out style. She then temped for an agency for 2 weeks and X company contacted her today and offered her the old job back at a higher wage (the person who replaced her appears not to be cutting the mustard). Anne-Marie (DD) is good at estimating and project co-ordinating. SO X company (the original) save money if they have DD back, and are giving DD the wage that the job was advertised at after she originally left. Hope that makes sense.
Still think the Universe rocks.....oh yeah....!!;)

Sorry (selfish me)...... All the success in the world for Leeds MG. It WILL lead to more and more people who want and more importantly need your expertise. Seriously believe you will ROCK it. Great news about the school to. Positive wibes for everybody.
EH - Huge well done. WIsh I had the courage, hopefully It will arrive................x
  • Wow - MG fantastic news on both the school and the book! No wonder you're been MIA! I'm glad you're OK with my business name too - I was slightly worried in case anyone thought it was out of order....it just seemed so perfect to me though! :D

JC - sounds like you did a perfect job on the second interview, so now either the job is for you, in which case a call early next week offering it will happen, or it wasn't, in which case you're better off holding out for something that IS right for you. I will keep the positive vibes flowing!

Fantasia this is turning into a proper good news afternoon isn't it - that's brilliant for your DD too - see, we said that something good would come of it!

Thanks to all for encouraging comments - I will be cautious about how much I say, don't want to get my wrists slapped do I!

Bitsy - quick story for you. Many years ago, when I was quite small, I helped my Dad out doing a leaflet delivery job he was doing to help with the family finances. It was literally sticking flyers through letterboxes around our local area. One place we came to was somewhere neither of us had ever come across before - a horseshoe-shapes development of tudor style buildings - flats, with just four flats per block, and SO pretty with it's timber frames and leaded windows. hat evening I was going to stay with my Auntie and Uncle, and was telling them about the place, and in all seriousness told my Auntie that "I'm going to live there one day!" Move onto 1998, and OH and myself looking for our first flat to rent together, and what do we find but one available immediately at that development. My Aunt wasted no time in reminding me of our conversation, which I'd totally forgotten, when she came to visit us after we'd moved in! Pin your thoughts, hopes and dreams on the place you've seen, and make that positive statement, and you never know!

  • EH that is wonderful news I wish you were local to me I would definitely use your services I have just spent all day doing paperwork and I still have 24 letters to write and am now printing more newsletters etc because I didn't print enough so will have to start work again after tea. The only consolation is that when this is done I will be totally up to date on the charity paperwork :j part of my 50 day challenge only two lots of accounts to get up to date then :( but in comparison these will not take as long - or at least I hope not :)

What I would really have liked to be doing was playing with my beads and things that arrived in the post but I have resisted opening them so I wouldn't be distracted :o

Troglodyte thanks for your offer but I don't want to upset your plans and if OO says I can deliver them ready packed I can go down on 27th. As to where I am based North Wales not very convenient for someone popping through :rotfl::rotfl:

JC hope you get good news on Monday :D

Fantasia fab news about your daughter but she had the right attitude too which all helps :T

MG a book as well - you are one mad woman looking forward to Saturday although not to the early start :( hope the motorways behave.

Hope I have not missed anyone
