    JC - glad it wwent well and the outfit was right!

    Helen105 - re the weight, stop focusing on numbers, and focus instead on what you want to look like. It's easy to get hung up on being a certain weight, or dress size, without any regard for what your body wants and needs. It may be that a weight that you were fine, and looked fine, with when you were 25 will no longer be right for you.

    2. Fix my final ideal weight and achieve this (I have lost 5 stone in five and a half months :Tnow have to decide whether I need to lose another stone or not)
    3. Sort out my capsule wardrobe but as I am going shopping with Souk that should hopefully be pain free although at the moment my wardrobe has lots of empty space as I have got rid of loads of stuff that didn't fit
    Phew that's quite a lot for 50 days but as I will have no small children to look after during the day the first time for seven years there is really no excuse :o

    Well done on losing the weight, 5 stones is a dedicated long term diet! :T
    I'm interested in what you say about deciding whether to lose another stone or not as I'm in a similar situation. I'm dieting but I don't know what my goal weight is now. I definitely want to lose another stone on the 50 day challenge but after that I don't know whether it should be 1/2 stone or a stone or more. I haven't been under 10 stone since I was 25 & I'm now 46. I don't know if going below 10 stone would make me look older- show up the wrinkles IYKWIM?
    Same dilemma on the capsule wardrobe, I'm now a size 14, I think I will make it to 12 but do I stop there and think, right I can start investing in decent clothes now as I've got the size I want?

    I'm going through a similar thing. Had a big weight loss and stabilised at about 10/5 for about 7 years. Managed in the last year to get it now stabilising just under the 10 stone. BMI is healthy, but still have blubbery bits. Also until I put on weight the only time I ever got to 10 stone was when I was at max pregnant weight, so it feels overweight and blubbery to me but I do know how to dress to hide the blubbery bits :o.

    Medically losing the extra weight to get to 9/5 will still be in healthy range of BMI, so it really is just a case of how much do I want to do it for me? How much of a priority?

    Currently size 12/14 & 5'7.5" would end up as more of a size 12.

    On the capsule wardrobe, what I do accept is if I lose more weight I might need to lose some items, but with it being a small capsule wardrobe, they're wearing out quite quickly, and more expensive items like coats which last longer should still fit as I'm not looking for a drastic reduction in dress sizes etc..

    Sorry if I'm waffling, it's just your posts triggered things I'd been mulling over recently, about why I wasn't managing to lose these last few pounds.

    Thank you Helen for your kind words.

    This is precisely my reasoning I haven't been this weight for over 20 years and at 51 wrinkles are definitely a consideration :eek:the other consideration for me is that I am top heavy and although I have lost weight from the top I have lost a lot more from the bottom if I could guarantee that the next stone would come mainly from the top I would carry on but if it comes off the bottom I am going to be even more unbalanced:D in fact I think I have decided I will lose 10lbs more and then reassess rather than the stone I was contemplating so at least that is the healthy weight set now I just have to reach it :rotfl::rotfl:

    As for clothes I have set a date to go shopping with Souk so whatever size I am then that is the size I am buying :T

    We're about the same age DT and similar problem re. tops. One of my recent purchases was a Triumph Minimiser Bra, it really did make me look 1 to 2 cup sizes smaller. Sweaters especially hung better. I'm going to investigate some more minimiser bras on my London shopping trip.
  • JC - sounds like a good interview. Fingers crossed for the next stage.

    DT - huge hugs and be very gentle with yourself today.

    Hmmnnn....

    ... this thread is going to my head a bit

    30-day Shred has been purchased and is winging it's way towards me...

    What have I done??? I see pain in my future :eek:

    I would pay money to be able to say something like that...

    The only time I was 10 stone was when I was about 12!

    Isn't it odd that something you really really want (if you are anything like me) can be also quite upsetting in a way.

    I think when we are overweight we spend a lot of time trying to blend into the wallpaper or maybe it is the desire to blend into the wallpaper that led me to stay overweight. I feel that people expect more of you, clothes & stylewise when you are a normal weight so getting rid of the old clothes is a bit scary as you are committing yourself to making that extra effort forever.

    I expect after a year or two at target weight it will all be second nature and you wouldn't give it a second thought.
    I definitely wanted to blend into the background (rather difficult at my old size! :p)

    I think it is me just being scared to accept that I'm no longer that person (mentally as well as physically - I've battled an ED for a massive chunk of my life). Getting rid of my old clothes feels like I'm getting rid of "me"!

    I've no idea what I'm going to be like in a year or 2s time! I'm on a journey to recover fully (if that is possible?) from my ED and loosing the weight is just part of it and the most obvious bit to others! Will I still be "me"? Will I like who I'm becoming? Will it be a sustainable change? Will I get ill again and end up back where I started? What will I be doing? What the heck will I look like? :eek: :rotfl:
    Its really odd having people (really obviously :eek:) look me up and down then comment about my weight loss and I'm only a few lb short of half way to my target. Hopefully I'll get there in the next year or so (I still have ~ 5 and a half stones to loose so its going to take a while! :p). My target is to be light, fit and healthy enough to hike the Macchu Pichu trail in Peru by May 2012 (oh and save up enough to afford to do so by then! :rotfl: ) :D

    OCCAMS RAZOR!!!!!!!!!!

    All things being equal - the simplest solution is usually the best - right?

    So here I have a boy who wants to learn, an existing school stuffed full of all the resources - and a will to do something creative for a year. Even got space inthe house that could be used as a Montessor environment.

    All I need is a teacher to teach him 5 days a week for 8 months.

    Simplest solution - find a teacher to come to Scotland for 8 months.

    Don't know how, or any of the details .................. but its got to be simpler than moving my kids to India for a year? Right?

    MG

    Could you find someone tained in the Montessori method and bring them over as an au-pair (from India or else where).

    But the principle is correct - you need to find a teacher to teach him rather then a school to move to.

    Right, back from Lausanne and the goals for the next fifty days are as follows:

    1) Loose 7.5 kg;
    2) Finish fitness book;
    3) Submit 2 papers to journals;
    4) Plan a passive income stream.

    This is more than enough I think.

    We had great time in Lausanne and it was wonderful to see my friend finish the marathon - very happy for him but started crying three times while watching (my heart was aching wanting to be out there running, enjoying the breath taking views and crossing this finish line screaming with joy), Next year I am running it - enough bad luck with this one.

    Part of my 50 day challenge was to source and read The Secret, I popped into the local charity shop for a browse and what was screaming out at me from the book shelves. I could'nt believe that the Universe had answered me so quickly.
    I beelined in (slowly so not to look to anxious lol) and lo and behold an oustretched hand picked the book up and shuffled to the counter.:(:(:(:mad:.
    Lesson learned, beeline in at top speed. Just too good to be true.:rotfl:. Obviously not meant to be as of yet.
    I hope the lady wanted the book as much as I did, my turn next hopefully. If at 1st you don't succeed and all that.
    Have asked the Universe again, just in case did'nt hear me originally.
