  • Hi MemoryGirl
    Sorry to hear your news.

The Montessori website (Montessori.org (sorry I cannot post a link) says their National Conference is on 27th November in London , and has a item on the page where you can email questions for the conference to the experts.
It talks about interpreting Montessori for the 21st century, so maybe someone there would have a solution or know a teacher who could help?

    Best wishes
  • MG sorry to hear your news. I know little about the system but would any of the teachers currently employed be available if the school is reducing in size. They may be interested in working with you to find a solution for the children affected and any others who may have left or been dissuaded by the previous situation?

Will ask the universe to deliver the best solution for you.

This is pants MG, they so need to edit their websites then to say they are the same school. And also the ages they cater to. What a crock, the nearest other school seems to be in Edin.
*wonders if there is a montessori tutor or similar who needs to fill in a 'gap' year or three quarters.
Welcome t MSE and the Matrix Yellow Glow.

MG: That is pants! Will see if I can find anything out for you as I know the kids I babysat for were Montisseri educated.

    50 day Challeng:
    1) To finish decluttering house
    2) To have faith in The Universe and define my wants
    3) Pay as much as possible off catalogue (£133 balance)
    4) To apply for as many suitable jobs as possible

Part of my writing down my wishes as reading the Secret was

    Harvested 20lb of carrotts
Today been given a tray of eggs.
Found article about making things, complete with blog details and then whilst in shop talked to someone who runs courses on making household things.

Sorry you've had such a bad day MG, I hope that a solution can be found.
Don't think of it is a fate worse than death though if he ends up in a normal school. The teacher that tried to frighten you was being very irresponsible. I live in a mixed area where children of educated middle class parents are in a minority, We have found that the first year of high school is difficult and then everyone settles down and finds like minded friends. I expect your son, like my girls is confidant in his individuality and although he would learn to fit in with the crowd he wouldn't change fundamentally.

Well I had my trip to York and bought what I needed in Lakeland and also some Pudsey Bear stuff for when we do our Children in Need cake sale at work.
Coming home we had to prepare for trick or treaters. A while ago DD3 had bought a tub of what she thought was red liquorice from Costco but when she tasted it she thought it was disgusting. We decided to give it away on Halloween but disguise it by covering it in paper tissues, tying it with cotton and drawing faces on them and calling them little ghosts. We do feel guilty though about palming them off on little children. Unfortunately we are still left with 130 red vines to get rid of.

Blimey, you don't live on my street then, Helen105, we've had gazillions of trick of treaters tonight, the most I've ever seen, our sweeties ran out and we've had to put a sign on the door and bring our pumpkins in. Took DD out for her first time, we probably won't bother again, she was quite scared (and who can blame her, some of the people's costumes were very realistic!!).
  • Sorry I haven't been around much I have been popping in and reading when I was able to try and keep on top of kits for kids stuff

Sorry to hear about DS1 MG we had a lot of heartache deciding to move schools for our little ones and still not sure we have made the right decision:(

Been very preoccupied with introducing our little girl to her new parents and OS came home for the weekend although he is not too well to say goodbye - final goodbyes have been said all round tonight as she is leaving in the morning

Thought I had better sort out my goals for the 50 day challenge

    1. Decide rationally whether we want to continue fostering or not all too much emotion for that decision at the moment but needs to be made
    2. Fix my final ideal weight and achieve this (I have lost 5 stone in five and a half months :Tnow have to decide whether I need to lose another stone or not)
    3. Sort out my capsule wardrobe but as I am going shopping with Souk that should hopefully be pain free although at the moment my wardrobe has lots of empty space as I have got rid of loads of stuff that didn't fit
    4. Tell my wonderful OH that I love him every day (25 years married on Tuesday) want to make sure we are still together for the next 25 years :D also want to make sure that we arrange regular date times - us time always seems to be at the bottom of the list
    5. Do some regular exercise
    6. Sort out what it is I really want to do as a job/business and make positive steps towards it
    7. Be sorted for Christmas
    8. Sell my Dolls House
    9. Be up to date with all accounts and paperwork
    10. Decorate my little girls bedroom

Phew that's quite a lot for 50 days but as I will have no small children to look after during the day the first time for seven years there is really no excuse :o

    DTxx
  • MG - so sorry to hear your news. Huge (((hugs)))

Do you have any idea how the other boy's parents feel?
Could you home-school both boys using Montessori methods?
Would the other boy's parents pay you?
