Ds is very computer literate (but not into programming... yet). He has every gaming / techno gadget going and delights in hacking and "modding" ie getting them do what they are not supposed to do.

He has in the past set (self taught) set up his own web-site; blog; forum but he was telling me this week that he had taken everything down because of being attached by 'bots (shruggy shoulder icon).

His big thing was You Tube where he created a Harry Potter tribute / parody animation that received 2 million plus views :eek:.

I think the gaming industry is the way to go for him but until he gains more social interaction skills / confidence it will have to be done from the security of his bedroom for the time being.

I read somewhere that for someone with AS you can knock a third off their chronological age - which would place him socially about age 12 (which would be about right).

But this is the point you see - you can help him with the story of the games and do the social stuff necessary. He will feel comfortable with this because this is what he likes doing - making the games happen; not talking to people. Don't ask how I know.

MG my hand is up for the seperate site. REALLY struggling to keep up with this thread and the job and my social life but LOVE it here and want to do what I can. Not got much time in the house but Claire will think of a meal plan tonight/tomorrow and PM you. How many are there again in your family and what ages?

MG my cupboard is so full I've had to move some spare bedding out of there and under the bed. Got enough bags and tins to do me a good while!

Thrifty, you could have more than one business. One helping your ds doing the social stuff etc as Firewalker suggests above, and then something multiple crafty that you can do alongside to make sure your needs are fulfilled too.

Claire - thought of you tonight. One of the staff in the hotel had super earings, dangling globes about 3 to 4ml diameter, covered in diamante type crystals, she also had a matching bracelet, she called it 'bling' but it was definitely sophisticated bling.

Edit - sorry sizing wrong, probably nearer 7mm
