Hi ladies.
I haven't caught up with today's action yet so apologies if I dampen a positive mood but I'm a bit annoyed.
Can't understand why some men (and women) but in this case man have to be so aggressive and confrontational and make you feel intimidated? There are other people at fault and I will deal with that tomorrow.
Being a northerner I stuck to my guns and was professional but it has still upset me!
Never mind tomorrow is another day and thanks for letting me rant
Sx
Hi there, your post caught my attention and here I am - playing the house psychologist. People can become aggressive and confrontational for different reasons - the most obvious one being stress and pressure. They can be like that because the environment is unhappy etc. They can also seem so to you - an extrovert for instance often appears aggressive, loud and unprepared to introverts. In other words people can be aggressive and they can appear aggressive - but whatever it is you cannot change them.
What you can change is yourself - you can chose not to feel intimidated; you can chose to deal with situations like that calmly and you can chose not to be involved in a confrontation. People victimise other people because they send 'victim' signals out.
So the programme, I believe is - working on one-self; learning to understand others; learning to 'shift' others.

Whew!!!! hello peeps
Got the proposal for the keynote off at like 2 minutes to five - and a huge part of me is chuckling away at the huge cosmic joke being played on me by the universe.
My first corporate Keynote proposal is for the company that is the biggest competitor to the Adminstrators instructed by the Bank ...................... you couldn't make it up, could you ?????:D
Fingers crossed that they think my "memorise that pack of cards" keynote" is worth considering.
DS1 has been off to chanter practice - and now both of them are in the bath playing with rubber dolphins - no really:D. Leaving me enough time to haul my desk through from the hallway (cos i was Baltic out there today) and into the livingroom where I can at least take advantage of the south facing window to keep me warm during the day....... anything to put off turning the heating on for a few more weeks.
Go another coaching call tonight - but this time I am going to have to throw my hands up and say that I haven't done the homework - although did get the proposal turned around in time:cool:
I'm debating whether to pour myself a large cup of tea, pop the boys into bed and start the research for the call sheets.
What I need to do for each of our chosen venues is find the contact name, address, phone and email address for all the following categories.
1..Local Independant Schools
2..Local State Schools
3. Colleges - head of each dept
4. Universities - same including Staff Development and MBA programmes
5. 50 local Accountants
6. 50 local IFA's
7. 5 largest employers
8. Local authority - staff development Officer
9. Any medical or dental school
10. Chair of 10 local networking groups (BNI, BRE, Rotary, Chamber, WIN and womesn in business groups)
Now I know its only 10 categories - but there are 20 venue location's so I amsure he doesn't expect me to deliver them all this afternoon.
