MG spreadsheet arrived and downloaded and saved but my pc wont let me open it its saying it cant be opened because either the file is corrupt (I know it isnt) or something about incompatibility.
I havent got a clue what to do, various sites kept popping up telling me I could open it by downloading software blah blah so I did and it still wouldnt open, have spent the past 15 mins installing and uninstalling and running scans - can anyone advise me what I need to open this.
I am running windows vista but with wordpad, no excell o r anything like that
If I cant fix this - I can either e-mail the links or alternatively email a list which ever is easiest0 -
fantasia322 - when your daughter is ready why don't you both come over for tea and cakes and a chat?
I'm sure we can brainstorm between us a way forward for her - with the matrix filling in any gaps.

Ok it's an excel document so you won't be able to open it.
How about you just use the headings from the spreadsheet and create a table in word (or any programme you have that you can create a table in)Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

If you google openoffice you can download it for free and you can open any word or excel stuff using it.

All I can say though is - can I join the Calendar Girls large buns club too???? Mine can type if I'm too close to the desk :rotfl::rotfl:
So - what have I been up to?
Well, working for a big bank I thought that I'd better mention the possibility of a TV producer being involved to the big bosses doing my collections (also to get a bit of feedback as to how things were going) - so another e-mail was sent & everyone is still happy & collecting & I was referred to the Press Office, just in case. I know it sounds like overkill but with banks these days everything has to be above board. Anyway, everyone is still happy - and as the dept I'm dealing with is in Edinburgh I asked them if they would pass the e-mail around the building as I could pick up kits from them. And they did :j:j:j
Don't want for cheek, do I ?:o
Hahahaha Clootiesmum, love the comment about your large buns getting too close and being able to type!
Yep, my 'more than amples' have minds of their own as well, very intelligent parts of my anatomy!
It's taken me a long time to stop hating them but I have had to come to terms that they are there, I am lucky to have them and even if they do cost a fortune a lot of people admire them!! (although I would prefer a more manageable size!)
Blimey O'Reilly everyone, it is so hard to keep up with this fast paced thread. Still thoroughly enjoy reading it.
I get temporarily inspired by certain comments and think 'I would love to do that' then do a bit of research and then realise that 'nope, not just yet. Got debts to pay off, this house to finish renovating, search for a new job/career etc before I try another hobby'.
Especially the corsetry/bra making! Now that would be a skill and a half (or would it be a double skill?!)
So just to let you know what I have done today (day 3 off sick with infections in both ears and partially deaf in both now as well!)
The motivational and inspirational 15 minute activity 'bursts' resulted in me actually completing:
- reading half of my 'Student Survival Guide'
- hoying 3 lots of washing in and getting them dried
- sorting out the kitchen (which I am beginning to love doing these days but then I love doing anything apart from my job - can you see a pattern forming here?!)
- collect a whole football team's worth of strips including tops, shorts and socks for OliveOyl's charity
- bagged and labelled all of my strip donations, so far - looking good!
- almost finished my lampshade (have been making a new standard lampshade - 2nd attempt and I WILL NOT ALLOW IT TO BEAT ME!!! I WILL SUCCEED!)
- Filed away my financial paperwork
So a successful day methinks!
OliveOyl - do you still want the totals to be posted on the Kits for Kids facebook page? I put my totals up there yesterday and was going to do the same today but nobody else has! Or do you want them posted on this page? Or elsewhere?
Anyway I am continuing my first ever charity attempt for Kits for Kids (I have renamed it when pestering my fb pals 'Terri's Monumental Scrounge-athon for Old Unwanted Football kits!) and it's doing the trick!
As they say in Geordieland - 'Shy Bairns Get Nowt!'
If anyone in Tyne and Wear area needs any footy stuff collected please PM me and I will come over and collect.
So, to a brighter and more positive end to my week (albeit in relative silence!) I will sign off for the night and just read everyone elses comments!
Good night
