    Good Morning :)

Still feeling rough and could really do with going back to bed :( But got loads to do, I never did anything at all here yesterday so the house is now a tip :(, So its cleaning for me this morning, then I need to meet Mum to go to the hospital at 11.

Hypno, Your friend could just be making up the stuff on facebook :) Think we might need a Matrix celebration Party, It can be done, was done on another thread I read, everyone booked a travel lodge who went, the birthday Girl booked a hall and everyone took food and booze with them :)

Hypno - lots of us don't have mega birthday celebrations, I don't know when the last time I celebrated a birthday was, I'd hoped to go out for a nice meal with OH this year, but a panic on at work and other things changed the plans.

As others have said, you hear a lot about people's big plans, but you don't hear about the rest of us, as there's nothing to post about.

The other side is also the standard mse reply, of how many can actually afford these things, how much is just going on the credit cards or remortaging the house?

Yes, I do want to do some treaty things and big trips, but it will be within our means, and we'll do it as mse as possible. After so many years of moneysaving I don't mind spending money to get the right deal at the right price, but I don't like wasting money.

Hope you have a super 40th Hypno. Have you thought of doing something 'outside of the box' to celebrate your 40th birthday/year? It doesn't have to be expensive, just different. But with 2 marathons planned already you're planning to do special things already :)
  • I sometimes think FB can be used as the equivalent of those Christmas round robin letters that some people send - full of nothing but fabulousness and not really connected to the real world! Just another way of boasting and presenting a certain image.

I was divorced before my 50th and planned myself my own fab day - got a few friends together for a drink then had a meal with my daughters. Which my ex came along to..... which was alright.

But I do know about the days when it is easy to feel life has left you behind. Doesn't last forever, but not a good place to be. But the fabulousness here is for real Hypno and we're all with you!
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Sorry for clogging up your thread last night MG - I can't post everything on my own diary because ex and his family read it.....of course, they could be following me around the boards, in which case there is no escape, but there is less likelihood of them reading my feeling crap posts elsewhere!

    Thank you :kisses3:

Hypno - this is your thread too - it belongs to everyone and you are allowed to hog it as much as you like - especially when you are having a "pants moment"

You know this is working because (although we are pretty much anonymous)- we do actually care when people are having a down day. Its about suppport in whichever form that support has to take.

So Mike, you better keep on checking in because we are resourceful ladies and we can track you down and force-feed you tea and hob-nobs you know MG's default position is of course to put the kettle on:D)

I may disappear for the day, quite suddenly as we're possibly having no electricity for the day, but will be back.
