    Claire - re: wedding jewellery
The girl I ordered from had example pieces on her website, but stated in the description that they could be made with any colours from the Swarkovski range. I chose the styles I wanted, and sent a note that my colour scheme was blue and silver and then she sent me an email with jpegs of the different blue beads available for me to choose from. As my bridesmaids had 2 different colours of blue for their dresses, I was able to choose 2 shades for her to combine with clear crystals for their necklaces and earrings. She also adapted her tiara design to include tiny pearls to match my other jewellery.
(I can't find her website now or i'd have pm'd it to you!)

I ordered 4 sets of necklaces/earrings for my bridesmaids, and necklace earrings and tiara for myself, so it worked out as quite a large order in the end. Would it be worth creating a stock of standard items that people can order customised versions of, especially for weddings where colour schemes can take over!

right peeps, i'm about to send an email for an airfreight quote, cheap as poss, who should i send it to? the export manager? head honcho?

If it's a Spanish company, try and talk to the head poncho... :)
  • Kits for Kids collectors - if we were to aim for the end of October deadline, how many kits have we already got and how many have been promised in the next week? I'm guessing we are not up to 10,000 yet (I have three complete strips I think) - so if we got together what we do have, could we send those by sea? If the quote is for a large quantity and we have less, would that be cheaper? If we have a reasonable number ready to go, why not get those together and on their way at the cheaper sea rate? Where would we have to get them to to pack them up all together?

Someone did once send me a letter saying they had spoken to the head poncho - I think I still have the letter, makes me smile every time :rotfl:

i think it would be easier if people put on the FB page how many shirts or full kits that have collected, along with size - er 5-10, 10-15, adult s, m, l. That way it can be kept track of.

i've put in the email ads for the VP, Gen manager at LGW and the Business Dev. manager.

What should the subject line be? Rather than just 'quote request'?

also just seen that they have an office in J'burg, should it go the the senior management there too?

Rub it in olive lol, :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:wish I was in the sun, wouldn't have this dreaded cold then :)

I don't know - I had one of the worse colds when I was in SA - admittedly I've not had one since (4 years now) but I felt ridculous having a cold with the heat - even if the locals were telling me to wear more clothes (I went out in their winter)

I may have also just accidently (in the sense I intended to but probably shouldn't iykwim) ordered something off the website Claire but just so you know that there is no rush at all as I know your not feeling 100%

Hope everyone else is having a good day :)

I may be completely stupid when it comes to modern social networking sites :o But I think just quantity is all I could cope with, otherwise I'd have to get a spreadsheet organised..........:o:o;)

If we "post on the wall" (?) our name and number do you think that would help us keep tally? (I mean the number of shirts collected, not our matrix number dur, that's confidential isn't it? ;) ) Then if you get 2 more for example just post 2, not your new total.

And I could find a place for posting the running total?

(a bit like those thermometers outside churches?)

Sounds good - if it helps I'll happy keep a spreedsheet for you and scan the fbook page for numbers and then if anyone is on here and not on facebook they can pm me their tally and maybe we could have an update every week?
