I got some sticky hangy-up things last year & they worked well in my south facing kitchen. My Mum got them for me from an old fashoined hardware shop (you know - where they still wear brown coats like Arkwright in "Open all Hours") as I couldn't find them anywhere else. Much nicer than spraying yucky chemicals all over your food & work surfaces.

    :rotfl:

i agree the old fashioned hang up sticky things are the best :T

i had those sunflower ones you stick on the window but they didnt seem to work :(

I spent over an hour today untangling my bead dangly thing to hang over the back door so the flies don't come in when its open.
I was very proud of myself that I didn't bin it and buy a new one :)
They do help keep them out - worth an investment.

I normally burn citronella candles. We always have one on the table when we eat outside, and I often burn them by the open back door if there are a lot of flies about. The ones in terracotta plant pots/jars/metal buckets last for ages.
Here I go again on my own....

I have kitchen window covered with a flyscreen - it's also good so that moths don't get in at night. Just netting with velcro, so you could do this yourself quite cheaply I think. I did have one for the outside door, but it finally gave up the ghost earlier this year and need to get a new one, as I like door being opened - only thing is that the screen has to be on the outside, so looking for a hardwearing type - and as cheap as possible. If I find one, will post the details, as cannot for the life of me remember where I got the old one from!

    Get a cat.

I honestly thought that they were for people with rodent problems but our kitten enjoys hours of harmless fun at nights whenever the back door has been open watching flies around the lightbulb! Unfortunately, kittens and the sticky flypaper which I had do not work well together.

Makro had the small zappers for about £15 recently. I thought the price was so reasonable that I told myself I must get one next time I was in. Shame they seem to have all sold now. :(

Been trying joss stix havent worked, any other ideas for these annoying little devils, that doesnt involve zapping or killing, repellent only please!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind

You can get the sticky strips from Betterware if you can't find them on the high street.
