Convenient news on the date of the QE decision.
Hopefully, will make £ prices even cheaper for me! I don't think they will announce anything today though, thought it more likely after the Spending Review given they've said they might need to support the economy with more monetary stimulus to counteract the govt spending cuts.0 -
This is true, however, Based on the fact Halifax don't actually provide mortgages anymore due to their uncompetitive product, I wouldnt get overly excited. This is probably based on 100 house purchases for really desperate buyers with rates at 5-6% + its not surprising they are showing annomilies.
Is anyone stupid enough to use HALIFAX for a mortgage, all im aware they have been doing in the market recently is REPOSSESSING.
The bonus is, while house prices fall, interest rates remain low for even longer. Meaning low mortgage payments and the ability to overpay the mortgage, so while I was thinking 25 years not so bad, now im thinking 10-15 years and its all paid up.Plan
1) Get most competitive Lifetime Mortgage (Done)
2) Make healthy savings, spend wisely (Doing)
3) Ensure healthy pension fund - (Doing)
4) Ensure house is nice, suitable, safe, and located - (Done)
5) Keep everyone happy, healthy and entertained (Done, Doing, Going to do)0 -
Lots of excitement and mentions of a historic day in economics, based on an index that only last month was being dismissed as manipulated and unrepresentative of the whole market.
Get used to it, the indexes get licked more often than one of John Pescott's Plates when they agree with some peoples VI.
When they don't they are passed off as the work of J.R.R. Tolkien.:D0 -

Full crash speed ahead, big pat on the back if you never bought this month, you just saved £7000 this month.
Hopefully this is the start of some hefty falls and we get back to realistic house prices.
