Cheaper Oil for Fuel?

Oil club this week is quoting 0.4038.I always shop around, but oil club tends to be cheaper than ordering direct, boilerjuice, my local small village club, or any other on-line oil website.Prices have dropped a lot the last couple of months (from about 0.48). Not sure why but would love to know if the trend will continue or reverse. Crystal ball anyone...?0

As I said a few posts ago, the recent reduction in price is mostly to do with depressed demand in China, following the health emergency there. That said, myth and legend suggests oil prices are highest in winter and that you should buy in summer. Having kept quite detailed records for the past ten years or so, I can attest that that isn't necessarily true. You just have to keep on your toes. And yes, the oil club I use also seems to be the cheapest source for me, as well.notrouble said:Oil club this week is quoting 0.4038.I always shop around, but oil club tends to be cheaper than ordering direct, boilerjuice, my local small village club, or any other on-line oil website.Prices have dropped a lot the last couple of months (from about 0.48). Just bought 1,000 litres at 38.8p including VAT. A small silver lining to the coronavirus cloud.

Your price makes my 33.35p + vat ordered today seem almost extortionategreatcrested Today's price is 31.23
but my tank only holds 1250 litres so I had to order the 1000 litres sooner rather than later. This is still the lowest price in the 3.5 years of being on oil for me. 0 -

You may be able to cancel the order and re-order at a lower price....I ordered a few days ago at 34.96 via the Heating Oil Club on 9 days delivery. They allow penalty free cancellation up to the day before delivery, so.......Around March 2016 the price was 27-28 ppl. Since then it's been in the 40s or more. Back in 2002-03 I was paying 16 - 18 ppl. Those were the days!

Our local fuel group price in Wiltshire is 40p for orders placed this weekend. I paid 39p with boilerjuice 2 weeks ago which was delivered last Thursday when people on this forum line were quoting they paid under 35p. For some reason Wiltshire area is more expensive than most others.
