Sorry Pooh, I have been a bit AWOL.

Great news on the cottage bookings and Mr Pooh getting paid :)

I think you should actually write a helpful guide to finding your way through the money maze and hidden money available. I'm sure there are many people out there not necessarily getting the help they need or are entitled too, although you always seem so busy I'm not sure you will actually have the time !

Hope the Seminar goes well today .

    Take Care x

No worries Pinot, we are all busy people.:D
I will have a think about writing a post about where there is money available. We were turned down by warmth for health but I now know about it to hopefully help someone else.

I have had a busy week. DS3 and I looked after DGD for 2 days. Then I needed the rest of the week to recover! :D

Mr P and I have drawn a line under our debts. All cards have been destroyed so not a penny more borrowing for us. :D

The cottage business is now ticking along nicely and covering its costs for May without us having to supplement it. Mr P's business isn't coverung its costs yet but hopefully should do so by mid May if the weather stays dry :D

Next Saturday I am taking a space at a car boot sale to try to sell some of the bits and pieces that came from Dad's house plus may make something from bits and pieces of ours too. I have hundreds of books which aren't selling on Amazon. I also have some Summery clothes which I can put on 3bay.

We got a new Gold award yesterday for the cottage so we are very pleased with it and are hoping it will help to sell it a bit more easily.
I need to raise £600 to have a heat meter fitted so we can claim back RHI. It is daft that the GSHP has been in 2 years now and we haven't had the money to for a meter so we can claim back the RHI to which we are entitled. Two years ago I was quoted £2000 for a heat meter fitted. Some good things come from waiting. :)

My internet has been quite patchy as the electricity companies are renewing poles in the village and tree trimming around about. Our signal is via wifi over the valley and if other people's power goes off our internet does.

DSs 2 and 3 have gone on one of their long walks. They will be home later very hungry after walking 20-30 miles. DS1 is poorly in bed with the same tummy bug he had last week, he thinks.
I had a disturbed night as he was up and down lots of times. The walls upstairs in our house are paper thin. I didn't think I would still be disturbed during the night with sick 'children' now they are all 20 somethings.

Mr P had to go to town to buy some medication for DS1 and then couldn't resist buying some wine, cauli and broccoli. He has prepped all the vegetables and has put out some plain flour, egg and a mixer. I think it is a very unsubtle hint that he would like Yorkshire puddings. :D We have some beef from our local farmer in the freezer which we save for special treats. DS2 isn't usually here so it is a special weekend.

DS2 has managed to find a job just 4 weeks after his contract with DWP ended. He starts working for NHS Direct very soon. It is a job with a lot of responsibility which I wouldn't like. He is also studying for his accountancy exams part time. While he is here I am going to make use of his excellent DIY skills and get a few jobs done around the house. He is meticulous in his woodworking.

Mr P has had a search of the loft and found a bag of baby shoes we kept from our four. All are unmarked and pretty much unused, DD asked if she could try them for DGD who is on her feet. She is a little madam and wants to walk everywhere, including outside. Just like her mother :D

Mr P was paid on Friday for some work he did a week or so ago. We wanted the money to pay his car tax but the people paid cash.We hate cash payments. It means a 40 mile round trip to put the cash in the bank so I can pay online. There must be an easier way to do it whilst keeping the accounts right. Must get my thinking head on.

I don't think our PO does car tax any more but I will check. I have just become so accustomed to doing it online out here. It would save us from having to go to the bank to put it in on Tuesday.

This afternoon I went to the pub in the village and had two teas for £2. I know how to treat myself :D It was lovely to catch up with people.
