Hi Everyone
Thanks to everyone who replied to my earlier threads about RCt. Just to let you know I have been for my second round of RCT treatment today. It was a little unpleasent but not painful at all. Didnt need a injection this time around. But everything ok now Dentist did say though if I get another infection in that tooth again they wont be able to save it this time so it will be took out.
So thats it from me
Thanks
Oggy
Glad it went ok and fingers crossed all settles well!0 -

Hi,
After spending two of the most awful nights of my life, in constant pain from a tooth abscess. Sitting up at 3am sobbing my heart out and empathising with my forebears who used to pull their own teeth out, and wishing I had the courage to do it myself. I rang the NHS helpline who after much questioning gave me an emergency number for a local dentist who opened on Sundays. I went asap and had a Root Canal Treatment done which eradicated the pain I had been in immediately. But now, 12 hours on, it's back with a vengeance. I have just taken my second antibiotic tablet (5 days supplied) and a couple of ibruprofen tablets and am praying that tonight I may get some sleep. Why has the pain come back? I thought the treatment drained the infection. What's gone wrong?0 -
Olympika, thank gawd you are on the mend. It sounds just like my last extraction - wouldnt heal, took months before the rice crispie collector was healed over
Hope the one next to it is ok. I had that too - had it root filled by my private bloke when the hole was still healing. Good luck xx
deliab, so sorry to hear about your problem and I know exactly what you mean, if Id had a pair of pliers on several of my root probs Im pretty sure Id have done a diy job.
Dont know why it should be hurting after RCT. Perhaps toothsmith will come along and advise. Personally, Id ring the dentist first thing in the morning and ask for an emergency appointment to see whats going on there. Good luck. Is it the same pain - the deep throb - or something else? Antibiotics take 48 hours to kick in.
Annie, good luck with your appointment - I did go private this time but have to say my porcelain caps are really so brilliant - Im sure you will see a difference if you have yours replaced.0 -

im not a dentist but rather than doing a full rct, they maybe just drained it, and now its ready to be drained again? i wouldnt say anything has gone wrong, youve only just started taking the antibiotics and as its already been said it can take up to 48 hours to kick in.
ring you dentist first thing in the morning and see if you can be seen tomorrow. the earlier you ring the better.0 -
My total treatment for one tooth with crown was 1200+ in High Street Kensington in London, although the insurance I'm with pays for everything, so I don't have to worry.0

Hi again,
Thank you to everyone for their concern.
But.... here I am again at 4am Monday morning, with that constant throbbing pain in my jaw and my tooth is very sensitive and I am unable to sleep. With RCT don't they take the nerve out of the tooth & if they do why does it still hurt?
Will take your advice alison999 & ring my dentist first thing0 -

I can sympathise with you having been in agony with my tooth for the past 3 weeks. Seeing the dentist again today so I'm praying they can do something to get rid of the pain as I just can't bear it anymore“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Deliab and chameleon - let us know how you both get on today.0

I'm dreading it to be honest as there still seems to be a lot of confusion over what's actually supposed to be happening with my teeth. Dentist tells me one thing and receptionist another so I don't have a clue what they're going to do today. They refused to refer me too so whatever happens I'm going to have to try and deal with it without sedation and I'm terrified“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
