lol, I am even looking at some 1970's hideous dishtowels I inherited from my mum and I use to dry the dogs and wondering if I can pass them off as shabby chic on free listings weekend.
    Yep, why not? :D

I can see it now: "Authentic, original, stylish dishtowels - beautiful 70s retro designs" ... Stranger things have happened on eBay, that's for sure! :)

If you look at the completed listings you might find you could get up to £10 depending on the design/condition!

My now former work colleague used to buy sports clothing from bootsales and sell them on ebay. He made at least £3.00 profit per item after all costs. Last time I looked, his f/b was 2000.

Any item of ahem, intimate apparel, you can buy, wear and then sell?

I'm pretty sure that would not be allowed under ebay rules

i have sold many items that are ready for the bin and not much use for anything else - they make more money than when they were new!!!! ;)

as a few other people have said - poundshops are great.

i used to work in a poundshop whilst at college and i often bought stuff and sold it on my dad's account (i didn't know i should have been a business seller!?) but they're always a great place to look.

i remember my work were selling off star wars bags for 50p - i bought the lot and they went on ebay for £5.00 +

i once bought a huge chewbacca bag from a charity shop for £5 and sold it for about £30!

Be careful with advising people to do this as you may be liable for tax on the income and your dad won't thank you if you end up having to register as a business if eBay get hold of the account and decide you should be registered. You should have been registered as a business, yes; unfortunately it's not volume that counts, it's intention.

Recently DH was having a clear out of his designer jeans - Diesel and Firetrap. These were pairs he originally purchased on ebay a few years ago for £6 or £7 - no more. After having worn them regularly they have recently sold for upwards of £35 a pair. So some good profit to be made there!
