biggest profit items on ebay

  • If you can get the items cheap enough then anything can return a large profit. If you check the 'Freebies no spend required board' then you'll find a lot of people get the freebies and sell them on ebay. Obviously this isn't going to make you money but as they are free then it's a pretty big profit.

good point jasmines whiskers. Something I have previously had ok success with is the GWP items from lancome, clarins and dior. I will buy products I use and take the things I want out of the GWP but sell the rest. They usually sell ok although it has been a while since I have done that. There seems to be less GWP's and less money on my part to buy them. I always tried to justify to myself that I got a great deal as I would make something on selling the items I don't want.

Just be wary of this - http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/perfumes-cosmetics.html

    and especially this - http://pages.ebay.co.uk/vero/infoforusers.html

Even if the products are genuine, it does not guarantee that they are permitted to be sold on ebay.

The items the above poster is talking about are samples rather then testers.
From ebay: 'Testers of perfumes and cosmetics that have only been given to shops for testing purposes but are not for sale may not be listed on eBay'.
Samples/gift with purchases have not been given for the shops' use but given to the customer as a gift. There is even a 'sample' category within health and beauty.
There are also plenty of 'store use only' testers still for sale anyway so they aren't cracking down on it too much.

There`s a lot of good halloween stuff in Poundland and other pound shops at the moment.I bought myself some purple footless tights and tights with spiders on there brill.I saw a lot of stuff I reckon you could make a profit on,especially if you stocked up on it now and sold after everyone else on EBay is doing the same thing.Sell them after Halloween as loads of the stuff would have excellent appeal for the rock/goth market all year round, might even do this myself

Agree with the poundland comment. Some years ago we found a cargo net that perfectly fitted the boot of our car. The Chrysler originals were £30!
Bought about a dozen and sold them on for £10 each with free P&P. Bit naughty really as at the time I didn't really know the difference between business and private seller.

There seem to be some eBayers selling promotional DVDs. You can sometimes pick these up at charity shops for 10p each and if you sold on for £1, after eBay and paypal you might be able to make a 500% profit. [Good if you're collecting a series and missed one].

That sounds like a great profit margin ... but you'd have to sell about 100 a day to make it worthwhile! And when you bring in the time spent buying, listing, packaging and posting them, you'd probably be earning a fraction of the minimum wage!

However, there are some sellers literally listing 100s and even 1000s every week - I guess this niche is for the very cash poor and very time rich. ;)

I doubt you'd make any money at all. 5p to list, 10p FVFs plus paypal charges and up against people charging 99p with free postage so postage needs to be factored in.

Personally, I would find stacking shelves in a supermarket more interesting and probably more profitable per hour!

But some eBayers seem to be specialising in them and selling them in quantity. I have to admit, I was fascinated to discover 100s or 1,000s of such listings of what must have required many hours/days/months of sheer listing boredom!

But I guess they must be making something, or why would they bother?

lol, I am even looking at some 1970's hideous dishtowels I inherited from my mum and I use to dry the dogs and wondering if I can pass them off as shabby chic on free listings weekend.

I have multiple pairs of boots I have bought off ebay over the last couple of years that have never been worn so they might be a goer too but I grudge letting things go for 99p or £5 if they are worth loads more. I suppose it is 99p that will be able to be used rather than more boots cluttering the wardrobe that are never going to be worn.
